Who else in the club is running this esc? Do you need the fan for 1S stock?

Don't need the fan I put one in my car and took the fan off. Doesn't get that hot unless ya gear it wrong I presume.

I have run that ESC with a 1s 10.5 without the fan and it didn't even get warm.  I would only run the fan for 13.5 or lower touring car. It can run down to a 8.5 2s in touring car.  I have read some guys have gone lower!

I would bet you can run 1s mod (4.5t) without a fan.

Shawn.

stick to the 8.5 limit REGARDLESS of the cell count lol. a 4.5 will definitely cook it. you dont need the fan for any stock racing really, so recycle it for a motor cooling fan.

Nope. a 4.5T will _NOT_ cook that ESC in 1/12 scale. Wont even get warm.

Do you need to run a voltage booster with this esc? Is this the esc that is rated for 2-3s lipo?
Thanks,
Colin

Yes, I just bought one. It's rated for min 2 cells, so it needs a booster.

Fyi I ran this esc with no fan and a 5.5T Reedy sonic 2. Barely warm to the touch, motor barely warm. Used 2200ma out of the 1S batt. No problems.

Thanks for the info Bob!  Also this ESC has been used without a booster no problem, but I would still recommend using one for the servo and receiver.
