Just a few days until Speed Weekend 2016!

The plan is to setup the track on Friday around 6:00PM, depending on when the parking lot clears out.

See ya there,
Blake

Hey all,

As we approach Friday, we're facing some possibly suspect weather. Fingers crossed that it'll be workable!

Here is the ideal schedule for the weekend. This could change if the weather does not cooperate:

Friday, July 8th
6:00PM - 8:00PM: Track Setup

Saturday, July 9th
8:00AM - 11:30AM: Open practice and registration
11:30AM - 11:45AM: Drivers meeting
12:00PM - 6:00PM: Qualifying rounds (3 rounds with a resort after rounds 2 and 3)
6:00PM - 9:00PM: Open practice

Sunday, July 10th
8:00AM - 8:45AM: Open practice
9:00AM - 11:00AM: Last chance qualifier
11:00AM - 3:00PM: Triple/Double Electric Mains, Single Nitro Mains w/Bumps

Hi all,

We are watching the weather forecasts closely for this weekend.  While it's certainly not ideal, we are planning to continue with the race and try to work around any spotty weather.

This is what we're seeing currently:

The rain started Thursday morning here and all forecasts are calling for rain most of Thursday and Friday.  Most forecasts are calling for "Chance of Showers" (20% - 60% depending on forecast) on Saturday, and just "Cloudy" on Sunday.

Depending on what happens Friday evening, the track setup may be delayed until early Saturday morning.  We hope to get as much of our scheduled three rounds of qualifying in on Saturday, with the understanding that there may be some rain delays.  We will not run any cars if it is raining obviously.  We have light until about 9:00PM, so we can stretch out the day slightly if needed.

Sunday appears to be the best day, so hopefully the final qualifier and mains will run as planned.

***QUALIFYING NOTE:  Come Saturday, if it appears that rain will play a role, we *may* implement the Qual Points system of qualifying.  The reason for this is that the track will perform much differently after it gets wet (even after waiting for it to dry, and re-spraying it).  Qual Points will help to remove the track variance from the equation and make every single round of qualifying equally important, regardless if it's a green track or a grooved track.  We will share more information about this if it is deemed necessary to implement it.

at the end of the day we all race on the same track. So everybody will have roughly the same effect. besides, who said different was a bad thing?

I talked to Craig on Thursday night and the plan is to setup *most* of the track on Friday night.  We'll build the outer wall, the inner walls, pit lane, and the driver's stand.  The carpets and dots will likely stay in the van until Saturday morning.

Racers can setup their pit areas, tents, tables, etc... as usual.

See everyone on Friday at 6:00PM.

So this event has a shuttle bus from our track to the lagoon on Saturday.

Hope there will be no problems. On the other hand with this and the car show at Fort Rod Hill we could get some extra needed exposure. May be we should put the RC Racing sign at the entrance to the parking lot on Saturday.

Nick,

Did you get missed a lap in our B-main?

I thought you got back in the race pretty quick when you parked it; the print-out shows that you missed a lap.
