See everyone at 9:30am.

Is speedweekend a one or two day race this year?

Two-day, more original format, but with triple mains to practice for the upcoming carpet WCICS events and their new format.

Fun race day yesterday with some good racing all around.  The new track layout worked really well and is a little tougher than previous layouts I would say.  The little dot-hits and mistakes seemed to promote a little more passing which is nice.  Now that the layout is painted down, setup should be MUCH faster next time.  This will give us extra practice time and a little more time between races/rounds which will be nice.  Even with the slow setup we still managed to finish the mains by 3:30PM which is great.

We had close to 15 people yesterday which was great, but it would be awesome to get up closer to 20 or more.  Hopefully we'll see Brian, Jody, Glenn, Dan, Doug, Jarrod, Joe, Kayden, Mateo, NickF, Avery, Tyler, Tom, Jacob/Matt, John, Vince, and maybe some others join us next time!

Next race at Juan de Fuca is in two weeks:  Sunday June 19th Father's Day, so all fathers should definitely be in attendance!

Yes, but don't go too crazy or Thomas might feel some pressure to work on his.

Gotcha, hopefully see ya on the 19th then!

Remember everyone that we're not at Juan de Fuca this coming Sunday June 12th.  Instead we'll be downtown at the Victoria Curling Club for the UrbaCity special event.  See you there.

Thank you to IROCC for being great hosts.

Had a wonderful day. I never flew an airplane before, but I think I got my wings today.

Yeah, fun race day yesterday.  Definitely our best club race in the last couple years I would say.  Thanks to everyone for coming out, and especially to Alex, Chuck, Dan, and Edmond for making the trip from Vancouver.  Also big thanks to Luke for taxing them around!

We're racing again this Sunday (June 26th) and that will be the last practice opportunity before Speed Weekend on July 9-10.

Hey all,

Just a heads up that I'm taking vacation until Sat July 2nd.  I'll be out of town so you'll have to coordinate with Craig, Luke, or NickK if you want to run any practice on Wed or Thurs next week.

Thanks,
Blake

Only thing is.... Ben (the new guy) does not have a 17.5 in his car. It is some 12 turn traxxas motor. But it is around the same speed as a 17.5 or slightly slower... Once he gets a hang of racing tomorrow I will hook him up with a brushless 17.5  or a 27 turn brushed motor setup for his tc4. Only reason why I would think of giving him a brushed 27 turn is beacuse he can not afford a brushless setup off the bat. And he already has a brushed speed control in his car.

Hey all,

Although this Sunday is part of the Labour Day long weekend and not on the official race schedule, several racers are hoping to race anyway.  The turnout will likely be borderline but for now the plan is to race on Sunday Aug 4th.

The rental car will be there.  Luke mentioned that someone last week was asking about the rental....  Was that your boss Avery?
