I'm expecting Novice is intended to be a TC chassis?

Yes although novices can run in the 12th Scale class as well. They will be pre-sorted into an appropriate heat.

First Carpet Club Race, Saturday October 7th
Saturday October 7th evening is our first carpet club race. Doors open at 4:00pm and track setup starts at 4:10pm. All local racers are expected to help with track setup (reasonable exceptions are fine). Some notes:
New Track Setup:
We'll be building a new track layout for the first night which will take extra time. We'll then run an extended practice session, followed by two qualifiers and one main. Future race nights will run three qualifiers and one main.
Formula 1 at the first race:
The shorter race program on night #1 will allow us to run Formula 1 if there are enough cars. Beyond that, we'll only have time to run it at future races if the turnouts are low.
Tables/Chairs:
Eagle Ridge has some tables for our use, but not enough for everyone. If you have a small table, it would be wise to bring it along. You MUST bring your own chair.
Payment:
Cash and E-Transfers are accepted.
TC Rubber Tires:
The club will have touring car rubber tires on hand for purchase. They are the same tires that most racers have used the last few years. These tires are not mandatory, but they are a good choice.
Traction Compound:
SXT is the only permitted traction compound.

First Club Race This Saturday October 7th
This Saturday evening is our first indoor club race. Doors open at 4:00pm and track setup starts at 4:10pm. All local racers are expected to help with track setup (reasonable exceptions are fine).
Important Quick Tips for Race #1
Follow these tips if you want to have fun at Race #1. The car must be race ready, with the battery installed, before making these measurements:
Touring Car
Ride height should be set somewhere between 5.0mm and 5.5mm.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fNlS0PMEf2c
Body height should be set to 10mm. The video says 8mm, but 10mm is required for our carpet.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dh8DTMXGg9o&t=455s
12th Scale Car
Ride height should be set somewhere between 3.4mm and 3.8mm.
Body height should be set to 8mm.
Front Tires
CA glue the sidewalls of your FRONT tires as per this video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nb8p6z33z3A
Same applies to 12th Scale front tires.

Excellent First Carpet Race!
Thanks to everyone who made it out for our first carpet race of the season on Saturday. Setup was a little slow due to laying out a new track. It will be twice as fast next time now that the layout is chalked and all the corners are preassembled. Big thanks to Marten Martin and Brian Ball for refining the storage area a little given the new obstacle there.
A few notable performances, especially from our group of young racers:
Avelyn was back racing again and she ran super well, finishing 3rd in the C-Main. Dominic ran some quick laps and made the C as well. Also in the C, Matthew, was sporting some new paint and his car was quick! He had a little bad luck in the main but his speed is impressive.
Big shoutout to Phil and Matthew Cady for bringing along a new racer Fielding W to the track. Fielding had never run a hobby grade RC car before and he caught on quick! He had a legit chance at bumping to the C-Main until a broken axle slowed him up a little. Nevertheless, a great night of racing for Fielding!
Cameron H had a career night with an awesome run in the D-Main just narrowly grabbing the last bump spot to the C. He actually switched to a backup chassis just before the main as he couldn't get his primary car fixed in time. Kudos for making it happen Cameron!
Next up, and still in the "young" category, Sam L was on fire in qualifying. He was running a new car and he was driving it really well! Definitely the fastest laps we've seen from Sam so far. Keep it up!
Special mentions go to Sue Lester and Shawn Lange for adapting quickly to indoor carpet racing after both of them ran abbreviated summer seasons. Sue was slow and steady and improved her pace each run throughout the night which was awesome to see! And Shawn picked up carpet racing really quickly and looked very comfortable in the new environment.
Next Race is Saturday Oct 21
Doors open at 4:00PM. We will run a full race program with three qualifiers followed by the mains.

Fun Club Race!
Thanks to everyone who made it out for racing on Saturday. Setup and teardown were very smooth. Extra special shoutout to Brian B, Martin Marten, and Rob F for doing a lot of the heavy lifting in and out of the storage area.
Congrats to Dan L for TQing the TC Stock class. He has been steadily improving since his return to racing last year, and he set his first IROCC TQ effort on Saturday night!
Craig R was untouchable in 12th Stock with a couple of flawless runs including his A-Main performance. His car is quick, and his driving was on point all night.
Jarrod H made his once-annual appearance and, as usual, ran competitively in 12th Stock with no practice and no laps since this time last year. Come visit us again J-Rod!
Cameron H had an awesome night with some really clean runs in qualifying and a strong main in the Novice group, propelling him into the TC Stock C-Main. Great work Cameron!
Ian H ran Cameron's backup car and turned his first ever laps with an RC car. I have to say, he was pretty impressive for a completely new racer. Keep it up Ian!
Next Race is Saturday Dec 2
We have an extended break at the moment. The next race is Saturday Dec 2nd, 2023. Doors open at 4:00PM. We will run a full race program with three qualifiers followed by the mains.
