Mini Z Track Nights
« on: September 04, 2006, 08:51:27 PM »
Hi, Guys.

I thought that I would get this note out early this year so that you could plan. I can't do Tuesday nights this season due to other commitments so I'd like to offer Mondays and Wednesdays. Your call. Please post here to let me know.

Since we now have the whiz-bang lapcounting system we can actually have different classes if you'd like to race. While there is nothing stopping us from simply leaving it as an open track, I'd like to propose the following classes:

XMod - Any XMod motor
Mini-Z (iWaver, Pro-Z)  - Stock (kit motor or Kyosho XSpeed)
F1 - Any stock motor.

10 minute heats
15 minute main

Based on last year's numbers we should have one heat for each and F1 is questionable at this time since there are only a few of us who have them.

MiniRC in Vancouver is about to publish a race schedule and they will be having a bi-monthly trophy race sponsored by three local hobby stores. We'll likely get something going with them, too, if you are into it.

Your thoughts?
Phil

Hi, Guys.

Well, I have canvassed a number of folks and it looks as if a couple can't come out if we go on Wednesdays and there are more people that can potentially come out that last year if we run on Mondays. So, let's try Mondays for a while then re-assess mid-fall. We'll likely have the first night the week immediately following our last touring car race.

Ciao.

Hey, you Mini-Z fans.

On Monday 6 November I'll be setting up the track for an open night O'racing at my place. I'll likely use all three garage bays of 2.5 RCP Wide-L track kits. I'll also be fiddling with the lapcounting system to ensure I've got everything we need.

Doors open from 6:00 PM- 9:30 PM. I suspect there will only be a handful of us at first as was the case last year until Christmas. All newcomers welcome (there have been 4-5 that have contacted me over the last month or so).

PM if you would like directions or phone number. Looking forward to seeing you here. Ciao.

Hey, Guys.

The track will be open Monday 13 Nov chez moi from 5PM onwards. With this being a stat holiday I could set it up much earlier if there is interest. Let me know.

PM if you need directions. See you at the races.

Hey, Jarrod.

Too bad that you couldn't make it. It owuld have been great to have you here.

Man, you've got to try that F1 Ferrari of yours on the track. The F1s are absolutely sweeeeeet. They track straight as an arrow and turn on a dime. The performance is so smooth and stable with the longer wheelbase. Brian tried mine and was immediately hooked. I turned almost identical laptimes as my MR02 and overall I had the same number of laps.

On that note, the lapcounting system is very nice, too. The transpoders were flawless and the race director software was helpful, too. Watch here for the next track night. I'll be at the trophy race in Vancouver both Saturday and Sunday this coming week - last time they were at this venue they had 400+ people watching the races. It's in the middle of a hobby show. Cool.

Ciao.
