New life to old Cars
« on: December 20, 2018, 04:34:06 PM »
Hello IROCC.

Think it’s time to bring some of my boys and myself back to the track.  Would like to use some of the old cars t hat I have.  1/12th carpet knife and my touring TC3.  I’m way back in the dark ages with NiMH and FM radios.

Hoping that people might have used gear that is worth while that I can buy and piece together these cars.

Let me know.

Hey Chad,

Good to hear from you, it has been a while!

You should bring your existing gear out to the carpet track for a practice night (most Wednesday and Thursday evenings).  We can talk about a path moving towards modern technology if you are looking to get back into it.

The schedule is a little weird over Christmas:

A few of us will be there practicing tonight Dec 20
Some *might* be there practicing Saturday night Dec 22
Some *might* practice during the day or night on Dec 27
We're hoping to do a club race Saturday night Dec 29

After that, the schedule should return to normal:
Practice Wed and Thurs evenings
Race Sat nights

Jan 11-13 is our two day carpet trophy race in Sidney at the Mary Winspear Centre.

I hope to see you soon!

Hey Chad,

Here is the address:

300 - 1779 Sean Heights
Saanichton, BC V8M 1X6

This is in the Keating industrial area.

This overhead map could be useful:
https://www.google.ca/maps/place/1779+Sean+Heights,+Saanichton,+BC+V8M+1X6/@48.5610563,-123.4264847,595m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m5!3m4!1s0x548f6e8ffa2885bf:0xe40359a5867c0c6b!8m2!3d48.560805!4d-123.426486

Google's "pin pointer" thing is pointing directly at our warehouse unit.

I'm out of town this weekend for an early Christmas but a few others will be there and I mentioned to them you may be coming out to have a look.

Chad, I have two older but still good 1cell Lipos you can have. People will probably show up at track around 4:30-5:00.
