Hello,

We are interested in trying out racing in the off-road class.  Currently, we have a couple of 1/16 e-revo, would this be acceptable for your 1/10 off-road class? They are a little small, but reasonably fast.

As a e-revo owner myself I would say you should be fine to run them. I actually started racing using a traxxas car as well lol.

Hi there.  Yes, bring them out to the track on Sunday and give them a go.  If they are too fast we may need you to dial the speed back somehow.

They should be on par with the rest of the trucks with a 2 cell LiPo and the stock gearing. I had issues finishing the race with the stock NiMH packs when I ran my traxxas at the races so be sure to pick up a LiPo before the race if you don't already have. I also have one you can borrow for the day if needed.

Hi all,

The weather forecast for tomorrow (Sunday June 13) is not ideal, but we'll be at the track in the morning.  Track setup will begin at 9:30am if the ground is dry.

See you all there,

It would not be an Irocc outdoor season without the rain

Great First Race!
Thanks to everyone who made it out for our first official club race yesterday.  The weather looked threatening all day but somehow we stayed dry.  Due to the threat of rain we ran the track without sugar which meant lower grip racing.  This is a good way to learn throttle control and everyone did very well in those conditions.

Next Race is this Sunday, June 20
We are racing again this Sunday June 20.  Celebrate Father's Day with us at the track!

*** Reminder to park your full-size vehicle in the lower lot to allow more space in the pit area.

See you there!

Hot Race Day!
Thanks to all racers for joining us for a great club race on Father's Day!  It was a hot one, and we had some excellent racing across the board.

We are racing again next Sunday June 27th, and we will take the following Sunday off (July 4th).

Happy Birthday JH.

Great club race despite the heat!
Thanks to all the racers who joined us for some great racing today.  It was a warm one - probably the hottest race day IROCC has seen in Colwood.  I'm really impressed with the quality of racing we're seeing in all classes, and at all levels.  Some excellent battles throughout the field.  Keep it up.

No Racing Next Sunday July 4
We are not racing on July 4th.  We'll be back on July 11th.

Came out today for the first time to check it out, well done everyone there was some great racing! Just wondering what those cars were? Looked like two TC classes maybe three then off road. What would be the make of the cars in the slower TC class? New to RC but would like to join everyone just don’t want to purchase a car that can’t run there. Thanks!

Jay, the biggest differences between the fastest cars and the slower cars are how they are maintained and how they are driven. All the brands can be competitive in the right hands.

Jay, our primary class is 1/10 Electric Touring Cars with 21.5 brushless motors.  The most common car in our club is the XRAY T4 touring car, anywhere from the 2014 model up to the 2021 model.  It's often best to find a used setup to see if you like it.  There have been a few used cars changing hands in the club lately.  You could ask around at the track, or ask around on our Facebook group for the most eyes:  https://www.facebook.com/groups/www.irocc.ca

Racers are grouped according to experience and lap times to make it fun at all levels.

Club racing this Sunday July 11

Track setup will begin at 9:30am.  All racers are expected to help with track setup.

The club will have some Team Powers rubber tires available at the track for anyone needing TC tires.  The price is $50/set all in.  Note that these tires are not mandatory - it is just a convenience for our club members.

See you Sunday!

Another Great Club Race!
Thanks to all the local racers, up Island racers, and Lower Mainland racers who joined us today!  Once again we had some great racing in all classes.  It's great to see some new people getting involved with the club.  I've been super impressed with how quickly they have been getting up to speed.

Big shoutout to Craig, Rob, and Joe who helped us make this raceday happen even though they were not racing themselves!

Next Race Day is July 18th
We're racing again next Sunday July 18th.

Thanks,
Blake

Great Turnout!

Our new racers have been making big strides in car control and driving consistency, and our top drivers have been treating us to some thrilling finishes each week.

We are racing again next Sunday July 25th, and we will take the following Sunday off (Aug 1st).

Tight Racing
Thanks to all racers for joining us for another great club race today!  With five heats of Touring Stock, this class is very tight across the board.  All our newer racers are improving so quickly that it's putting a lot of pressure on the middle/upper heats.  This is a good thing but the side effect is that so many cars are basically the same speed in each main which can sometimes lead to on track incidents.  This is part of the game, and close racing will ultimately make everyone cleaner and quicker, so keep on working and we'll all improve together.

We are racing again next Sunday August 15th.

Fun racing once again!
Thanks to all the racers who joined us for our fourth club race in four weeks yesterday.  Turnout this summer has been excellent!  Congrats to Nick K for showing us how it's done with some very consistent laps.

No Racing Next Sunday Sep 5

Possible season finale Enduro race
Based on the success of RRR's recent enduro race, there seems to be some interest in wrapping up IROCC's summer season with a similar race in late September.  Although the weather could be iffy, it might be a fun way to conclude an excellent summer of racing.  Stay tuned for more on this.
