Now that is something that I can volunteer to do for you.  Just get your cars ready!  :)

Hey all,

Last year, about this time, I received a few comments from some of our local IROCCers expressing concern about racing in the Speed Weekend event.  These racers were worried that they might not be able to match up against the extra competition at a large scale race such as this.  This couldn't be farther from the truth.  We're expecting out-of-towners of all skill levels to come join us for the race.  This means closer and more exciting racing at ALL levels.

I just want to make it very clear:  we expect EVERY single IROCCer to race in the Speed Weekend event.  Just ask anyone that participated last year - it was a fantastic time no matter what main you were in!

To further the above point to out-of-towners, so far this season we have had turnouts of close to 50 entries in the three regular classes.  We've been seeing close to 30 entries in stock so far this season, with around 10 in nitro and around eight in 19-turn.  From the race reviews I've read from other events in the last couple years, our regular club turnout is close to the draw of some of the trophy events elsewhere.  We have a great foundation of local support, which is what helped our event be the success it was last year, and will continue to be this year and in the years to come.

As was said above, you come to a race like this to have fun, not to win, because there aren't many winners.  If everyone came to win, then most people would leave disappointed!  What we do is give everyone the chance to win, and a great time trying!

dude, guys with your performance level often have the "just have Fun" opinion.

kidding aside, everyone will have fun and last year everyone took home a trophy. Both of mine happen to be at my office at work and they are often of great interest and discussion with visitors to my laboratory.

Also, I had a kid born that weekend last year and I still made all my heats except one, so if I can make it out so can everyone else hopefully. Lets shoot for well over a hunderd entries in 3 classes this year.

We did manage to break 100 last year didnt we? If we didnt it was very close.
