Fun Club Race!
Thanks to everyone who made it out for racing on Saturday night.  We had a smaller turnout with some racers staying home to watch the ball game, but we still enjoyed a good night of racing.  Big thank you to Tiny W and Nospoom S for making the ferry trip to join us!

Sam S made his IROCC debut running TC Stock which was great to see.  He got quicker throughout the night as he leveraged his previous experience from racing in Ontario.

Big shoutout to Jack F.  Over the last couple years he has improved his consistency and speed in a big way.  It's really showing in his pace now!

It was great to see Dominic M back on the track.  He too seems to have improved his consistency since last winter.  Keep it up Dom!

Special mention to Carter H for running some of his fastest laps in 12th Scale yet.  Although he didn't finish his main, he hit a 12.2 which is an A-Main speed lap.  Nice work Carter.

A few drivers need to keep an eye on their car weight.  Some of you were way under the limit.  The scale will be on the table again next race.

Next Race is Saturday Nov 15
The next race is Saturday Nov 15.  Doors open at 4:00PM.  The track layout will be changing so we will run extended practice followed by two rounds of qualifiers and then the mains.

Fun Race Night!
Thanks to everyone who made it out for racing on Saturday.  We had a good turnout and lots of good racing.  After running a little late, teardown was definitely some sort of record with absolutely everyone pitching in.  Let's keep that going.

Mark L earned the consistency award with some really clean driving in his qualifiers and his main.  He won the TC D-Main and made his way into the C-Main which was awesome to see.  Cameron also put in a good main and took the second bump spot.

Tim B threw caution to the wind with his TC motor and ended up winning the B-Main with a solid effort.  Nice work Tim!

Dan L has been the one to beat early this season in TC, and he put in another good effort on Saturday for a win.

On the 12th Scale side, Dalyn S has been largely dominant with great driving and a killer car setup.  Craig R and Jarrod H can get similar lap times but haven't matched Dalyn's consistency yet.

Daryl J was back on track after several months and ran really strong, and Paul Y backed up his previous race performance with another 12th Scale A-Main showing.  Awesome work!

Next Race is Saturday Nov 1
The next race is in two weeks on Saturday Nov 1.  Doors open at 4:00PM.  We will run a full race program with three qualifiers followed by the mains.

Fun First Club Race!
Thanks to everyone who made it out for racing on Saturday.  We had a small turnout but still lots of good racing.  We scheduled extra practice to allow everyone to adjust back to carpet racing, and then we ran two qualifiers and mains.

Big thanks to Matt Y for joining us!  He ran his first RC laps in a long time and he also was part of Paul Y's pit crew.  It's always great to see Matt.

Big shoutout to Paul for a career performance!  He ran his dad's car and made it look very good, eventually bumping up into the 12th Scale A-Main.  Awesome work Paul!

Ryan P made his first 12th Scale A-Main as well which was another impressive milestone.  Keep it up guys!

Nice work to Phil C for qualifying 4th overall in TC.  Great run there!

It was nice to see Sue L running on the carpet track for the first time.  She did super well given how different it is compared to pavement racing.

Next Race is Saturday Oct 18
The next race is Saturday Oct 18.  Doors open at 4:00PM.  We will run a full race program with three qualifiers followed by the mains.

First Carpet Club Race, Saturday October 4th

Saturday October 4th evening is our first carpet club race.  Doors open at 4:00pm and track setup starts at 4:10pm.  All local racers are expected to help with track setup (reasonable exceptions are fine).  Some notes:

  • Extended Practice: We'll be running an extended practice session on the first night, followed by an important drivers meeting, and then two qualifiers and one main.  Future race nights will run three qualifiers and one main.
  • Tables/Chairs: Bring your own folding table/chair.  Eagle Ridge has a very small number of tables and they will be prioritized for the club timing table etc.
  • Payment: Cash and E-Transfers are accepted.
  • Traction Compound: SXT is the only permitted traction compound.

Summer 2025 Is In The Books!
Last Sunday marked the final race day in IROCC's 2025 summer race season.  The weather cleared just in time to dry the track for setup and we had a great day of racing.  Big thank you to Tiny W and Nospoom S for making the ferry trip to join us!

The race of the day was the TC Stock A-Main which had an awesome three-way race for the win between Dalyn S, Dan L, and Nospoom.  Only half a second separated the three of them at the finish.  A little further back the race for 4th between Craig R and Avery B was a true door-to-door battle with multiple position changes.  In the end, Craig beat Avery to the line by 0.4s.  Good stuff.

I want to give a massive shout-out to Shane R for getting IROCC in the door at UVic!  It was a bit of a process, but worth it, as the parking lot worked very well for our needs and we ran ten successful races there throughout the summer.

Special thank you to these guys that go above and beyond every week during setup and teardown: Brian B, Craig R,  Dan L, and Brian A.

And of course, huge thank you to all club members who have worked to improve the club throughout the year.

Fall Carpet Season Starts Saturday Oct 4

Fun Club Day!
Thanks to everyone who made it out for racing on Sunday.  We had a light turnout but enough to run a regular race program, and the weather stayed dry which was slightly surprising!

In general the racing was really clean with everyone having to adapt to less grip than usual.  This helps develop more precise control over your radio inputs which is good for all racers.

Congrats to Chris B for running really strong all day.  He qualified and finished in 2nd place in Scale Spec with lap times on par with the winner Brian A.

Shoutout to Jay J who ran some of his most consistent laps in Nitro TC.  He's had a very impressive rookie season in Nitro!

Final Summer Club Race is Sunday September 21
Our final club race of the outdoor season is in two weeks, on Sunday September 21st.  We are expecting some visitors for this one if we can get some good weather.
