First start up this year.
« on: June 02, 2015, 10:21:04 PM »
So I got my car back together and I tried running it up. I had some trouble getting it started. once I finally got it going I noticed the mixture screw rotating in with the vibrations an the motor would eventually flame out. Then I remembered that I was having this problem on our last outdoor race day last year. I looked at the motor manual to find out there is an o-ring  on the needle so I removed the needle and noticed the o-ring was a bit flattened. I broke the o-ring while removing it so I hope I can find one at work or Coast Industrial so I can run this weekend.

Ive had this problem with all my os carbs to date. definitely check your suppliers for a decent silicon alternative. i started putting a small amount of red silicon on the threads just to give it some resistance when its in the body. you also wanna make sure your middle needle isnt moving.

Hey Neil,

I'd be willing to bet that between Craig, Rob, and Shawn there will be a spare carb floating around on Sunday from which you could probably steal an o-ring if you can't find something at work.  I gave all my spare parts (including a spare carb or two) to Thomas.  Probably a long shot there.

See ya Sunday,
Blake

Just checking to see that you're alive.

I've seen your dad more than you this year I think.

Got it running, ran a tank through it and it seems fine. On the topic of Tom, do you think he has cleaned his nitro car yet lol!
