ALL,
Do you or anyone you know have an ESC for sale?  I am not picky on brand just looking for somthing smaller than my GT7 that I can commit/hardwire to my carpet knife.  PM me if you have any, comments questions, thoughts, or any abnormal brain activity for that matter....

There isn't much smaller than the GT7 that isn't a high end ESC that I know of...  the GTX and the Quantum 2 are smaller but they are high end ESCs...

Kurk,
With my GT7 I have the large capacitor and schotky(?) diode along with several meters of 12 ga silicon coated wires.  I am happy with the speed controller I just do not want to cut any of my wires any shorter to get a better fit in my 1/12 scale because then they won't be long enough to proerly fit my tour car.

just solder in new shorter wires, or cut the ones on it and solder longer wires next summer.

Jody,
What about the large capacitor and the diode as they are both wired in with the larger ga. wire and it is really them that are the issue?

The ESC is designed to have the wire easily removable from the outside of the ESC.  I just yoinked mine out of my 10th scale - rewired it and gooped it in the the 12th scale

Get the 13 gauge from the Shaver shop.  A lot of the guys use 16 gauge (castle creations make the 16 gage wire so it may be with the airplane stuff and they also use it for slot cars...) because it doesn't cause as much interferance with the rear suspension.

You can put the diode directly on the motor if you are just running the one motor....

If you need help wiring it up just let me know...

Ryan, you can probably find another capacitor and diode.  Then you'd have two complete wiring harnesses - one for each season.

Or, better yet, find a way to solder the capacitor and diode directly to the ESC.  This is what I've done in the past.  That way the ESC-capacitor-diode stay together as one unit and you simply change out the wires each season.
