sort of Cody. if the smoke came from the motor as andrew was suggesting you at least need a new armature (what you mean by comm, as the commutator is part of the armature). You may be able to just get a replacemnt armature if you can find one. Likely a new motor is the best bet.
Find me on sunday and we can figure out your gear ratio, the likley cause of your smoked motor.
On another note...
Cody, do you have Microsoft Word or Works on your computer at home? Or any other word processor for the computer? It may be helpfull for you to write your posts there first, edit them, check the spelling and then paste it into the forum here. Or spend a little more effort on your typing/spelling. You are not only hard to read but sometimes hard to understand. I know you are just a kid but there is no time like the present to tune up your spelling skillz.

what pinion were you running when it went up in smoke?
what spur is in your car?
what chassis are you using, xray?
Do you remember when I was asking you if you had your 19turn motor in your car before the start of the D main last weekend because your car was a rocketship? I am sure you were geared to the moon.
Remember to always know what gear ratio you have in your car.
If you can get some new brushes from the hobby shop, Reedy 767's, I have a motor you can use for Sunday.

all i know about his car is, its a xray 05 with an internal ratio of 1.7.

look for a number on the spur gear, xray gears have a number. Take the pinion off and look closely for a number. Count the teeth if you have to.
