Hello everyone,
I am moving to parksville from edmonton on aug 1 / 07. I used to
race here in edmonton but took 2 years off. I am looking for info
on racing on the island.
In the winter in edmonton I raced TC stock and mod indoor on carpet.
For the summer season I raced outdoors 1/8 Onroad (smp slide)
and 1/10 Nitro TC as for offroad I raced 1/10 elec truck. I am looking
for info on places to race either indoor or outdoor (organized).
Thanks Dirk
We run 1/12th scale pan cars in the winter. We are limited on our time so we only run stock.
In the summer we run 1/10th scale TC electric 27T and 19T and Nitro. We are about 1.5 hours from Parksville. There may be something closer but I'm not sure.
We have a very large and friendly club. If you can't make it out to every race you are still more than welcome to race when you can!
We are the only game on the Island. There was a small club running in Campbell River, but at present they aren't doing anything from what I can gather. Get hold of Ron Halford(testostoRON), he lives in Parksville and sometimes races with us. He also ran with the Campbell River club, so he would know if they have anything happening.
If you're unpacked and ready to race on the BC Day long weekend, then check out our ad for the Central Saanich days race. Should be guys over from Vancouver that weekend as well as some from up-island. It is just a fun race weekend which we put on in conjunction with the Central Saanich Lions.
Hi, 2qck2c
Well, welcome to the Island and I am "TestosteRon" (see my Rhymes)
and I live in Parksville (actually in between Parksville and Qualicum, called French Creek, on the Morningstar Golf Course community)
It does take a little longer to get to the track....2 hours exactly and not exactly hanging about either!
But the IROCC group make you feel very welcome, when you go there.
I did try to start something here a few years ago but the dynamics here were a no go!!!!
I've been RC car racing since the mid 80's...how about you?
Where are you going to be living?
Regards,
Ron.
Hello TestosteRon,
I bought a house right in Parksville on Acacia st. I Take possession
Sept 1/ 07 But am moving 1 month early as my house here is sold.
I started Racing in about 1987 running an rc10 on a local track but
had toyed with them previous... I still remember my first buggy a Tamiya Frog. I Have only been doing onroad for about 6 years running 1/10 tc stock and mod indoor ( carpet ). I do look forward to meeting you all.
I won't be unpacking till I take possession of my home in sept.
