For you guy's curious who was fast back then

This is from the http://members.home.net/rccar/

2001 Roar Canadian Asphalt Nationals
Report by Chris Hammond

This year's Roar Canadian Asphalt Nationals was held in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada (about 2 ½ hours North of Calgary, Alberta) hosted by the Northern Alberta Scale Car Auto Racers (N.A.S.C.A.R.) Drivers came from all over Canada (Vancouver, Victoria, Toronto) and from the North Western US to compete.

Most of the Pro-10 class was drivers from the Victoria area and they seemed to have a great time. The Pro-10 cars were lightning fast on the 140' straight hitting speeds of up to 67 km/h.

Pro-10 Modified A Main

Driver Round 1 Round 2 Round 3 Total Points
Blake Bell 100 100 0 200
Tom Younger 99 99 100 199
Daryl Jones 97 96 99 196
Darren St. Peter 98 98 94 196
Jody Haddow 96 95 98 194
Craig Roberts 93 97 97 194
Don Johnston 95 93 96 191
Terry Pickerell 94 94 95 189

I believe this was the last canadian National's

This would Mean That our own Blake Bell is the reigning Canadian Champ.

Then I would also have to meantion Tom Younger and Daryl Jones too for a great placedment to fill out the top 3 in Canada are from Victoria's own Irocc Crew

Then there is also Jody Haddow and Craig Roberts for making into the A Main.

Good going guys' Back then.

Let see if they can keep this up this summer in our new Pro10 resurrection Class

So know we know who's fast from the past

Now will they be able to hold of new driver Like Phil,  Mick, and Brian.

Summer coming faster then you think.

Andrew(hmm maybe even I)

Craig actually pulled over and blocked for me as Don Johnston was catching me so I could keep 5th overall.

Hehe, yep we all made the A-Main cause there was only one main!  That was a fun race cause our cars were about the same top speed as the Nitro cars, or maybe even a little faster.  Laptimes were way better than Nitro obviously.

Thanks for the memories Andrew!

PS.  Here's Haddow getting his 5th place award!

I recall we had the highest top speed on the straightaways by far, and of course nothing could catch us in the infield.  I recall catching air under the front of my car after drifting wide on the entrance on the straightaway trying for super high speed-gun readings on the straight and doing a humungous back-flip in the air as a result.

Like I keep telling you Dr. J., you suck. I guess I'm still 3rd fastest on pavement. Maybe I should run 10th. For all those interested in 10.5 brushless in Pro 10, back in the day we were running 8T singles and 9T doubles to get those speeds. It was awesome running that class in Edmonton but God help you if you got the dot in the entrance to the chicane on the back stretch.

Sure glad, after a 15hr drive, that at least we got to race a couple of heats before the rain and wind(tornado) touched down on Chris' tent and we ad to pack up. Wasn't this when Tom's ESC got wet and said bye-bye? And he thought he was going to fix it. Well Tom, is it fixed yet?

Nope.  Although a bunch of FET's fried, a custom IC fried too, so that wasn't fixable.

I loved that ESC too.  It's the nicest one I've ever had.
