Hey all,
I wrote an article about my recent experience at the Halloween Classic race at "The Gate" in Cleveland Ohio. If you are interested, the article is on the front page of the IROCC site, or you can follow this direct link:

Excellent article Blake!! Sounded very exciting, wish I was there. Actually sounds better than the Champs. Sorry Mr. Bill.
I guess Eric Anderson thinks you are cute! LOL
Yeah, a very cool race for sure. This was the first race in a four race series making up the 2008 Northeast Grand Slam series. Organized by Paul Ciccarello and some other Mid Western usual suspects this series aims to return racing to local tracks that are struggling to stay open in this era of "mega-races" that are littered throughout the winter schedule.
The second race in the series will be held at FastCats in Oakville Ontario. Unfortunately there is no way that Fastcats will attract as many people as did The Gate simple due to the "border factor". That said, I am seriously considering attending the FastCats leg because it *looks* like I'm going to have to be in Connecticut for the week leading up to the race. This would give me another opportunity at a partly work-funded flight out that way. Plus I can stay for free in Toronto now.
If anyone is interested in a venture such as this, the dates for the FastCats leg is: Dec 12-14.
All races in the series offer the same classes, and use the same schedule:
Classes Offered: 17.5 & 10.5 Foam Sedan, 13.5 Rubber Sedan, 17.5 & 10.5 1/12, and 13.5 World GT.
Friday: Open practice (controlled by class if necessary), 10:00am-8:00pm, 8:00-10pm Late arrival practice
Saturday: Late arrival practice 7:00am-8:00am, Controlled practice 8:00am-11:00am, and 3 qualifiers
Sunday: Open practice 8:00am-9:00am, 9:10am 1 qualifier and Mains
