Title: Touring Car - 17.5 Brushless - Gear Ratio Question
Post by: haddow on April 07, 2009, 03:18:32 PM
what is a good starting roll out for touring with a 17.5?

Or at least, what spur gear do I need?

I am back in electric touring, don't tell my Serpent720, she doesn't know yet. I have enough lovin (and raw talent) for them both.

Hi, Jody.

For our track try 4.2 with low timing on the motor and maybe 15 on the boost. The guys are generally running ~3.8 with foam on carpet so I figured with the boost on the Tekin as it is, If you are short on top end, crank the boost to 30.  I think 4.2 would be conservative from what customers have told us, but they are all over the map with ESCs. Just check temp to be less than 160 and it should be a good starting point.

Hope this is helpful.

Sorry for the poor location of this post, my bad.

Thanks Phil

Can you remind me what the internal is in the T2. Been a while, by 4.2 you mean final drive ratio?
Hey the only stupid questions are the ones you don't ask!

Hi, Jody.

Yep - 4.2 FDR to start. IR on a T2 and a T207 are 1.7 if memory serves. Good luck. Just watch the temp.
