Title: Batteries for the 12th scale

Hey I went to the SMC site and was looking for the battery that we need, what one is it. Also what is the other component that we need.

John, you might want to hold off on this for now.  We're in the process of a club, bulk-buy for the new SMC 4900mAh 40C 3.7V pack.  More information will be available at the track this Sunday.

You'll likely need a Voltage Booster or a Receiver Pack.  I'm not 100% sure of our options yet.  I know Gord used the Novak voltage booster last winter with success with his 1 cell LiPo.

This is what we're bringing in.

SMC C-Max 4900mAh 3.7V 40C+ Lipo

We took an educated guess at quantities, but I will be asking around on Sunday at the track to get a better feel for how many of us will be wanting these packs.

Sorry Blake but your wrong....

I used the MPN Voltage Booster

I hooked it up to the esc so it would be on when ever you plugged in a battery

Ah, ok thanks Gord.  That thing looks pretty small which is good.  Did it work well?  And, what do they cost roughly?

I think it was about $5.00 but I don't remember were I bought it

We all can't run LiPo yet because there is no saddle pack solution right now. As for people that want to run out dated and soon to be not available technology, well, stock up on what you can get cause they won't be around long...

rcmarket has the smc lipo 3.7v 30c 4900 for 49.90 seams reasonable
