ya you likely need at least the "open pod" option for the 3.2R and gen-x. The huge tab on the motor is in the way I am assuming. Also a small servo (swervo) will help with esc clearance.

i can physiclly get the bl motor to fit, but i cant plug in the sensor wire, and the motor can hits the top left mount for the upper pod plate..

That sounds standard for the older CRC car Jarrod.

At least from what the guys were saying at the track.

Careful grinding with a dremel?

If that's a no go, and you don't want to blow-out for a new chassis, let me know and I'll make you a deal you can't refuse for my Gen-X from last year.  But only if you come out and race it....

I've got a 3.2R and am using a Tekin motor.  I ground a small notch in the left bulkhead for the sensor wire - it's still tight but not rubbing.  That said, the can doesn't touch the upper plate so it's possible I have a different rear pod (I bought the car used).  I'm also using a Novak sensor harness, which may have smaller plugs than the Tekin one.

I don't have a Tekin speedo but the Hobbywing is pretty tall, and is very tight.  I can't run a Speed 12 body with 12g wires, but got a Yokomo body to fit.  I'm going to switch to 16g wires.  But, I forgot about the regulator, which hasn't arrived yet, so I'll have to redo it anyway.

My problem is Thunder Power lipos don't have the battery slot bumps on the bottom, so they don't have a positive location system.  I'd like to avoid gluing plastic on the packs if possible.

Use soem shoe-goo to hold the pack.   That way it will never pop out during a race, but you can still remove the battery if you need too.
