Good day!
I over heard conversation at the track that we migght be able to build and run World GT cars in the summer. Is there any truth to this? If I decided to run 1/10th pan, I would rather put together a car I could use for several seasons of racing instead of 1 season.
Thanks Neil.
It looks like maybe next year.

I would ask Blake about this.
The decision was that Pro10 would be run as it has for the past few years. Beyond that we are *thinking* about perhaps maybe moving to World GT IF there is a compelling reason to do so. There is nothing stopping anyone from running a World GT spec car this summer, in fact I know of several people, including myself, who are seriously thinking of running the narrower 200mm car with the thought of World GT in the future. This all hinges on us finding a decent GTP body in 200mm that we can bring in for a decent price for this season. We have a couple of leads but nothing firm as of yet. So buying a car that is 200mm with World GT in mind is not a waste of money.

Nicely summarized Mick.
The "idea" of WorldGT at IROCC came about in hopes of better aligning with other clubs. We thought that if lots of nearby clubs were racing WorldGT in the summer, then we should convert and do the same to be compatible.
However, at the current time, there is not a lot of WorldGT action anywhere nearby. Most clubs reserve WorldGT for carpet use actually. So, we decided to run Summer2010 as per usual with our regular Pro10 class. We *did* however say that we are unsure of Summer2011. IF (and that's a big IF) the entire planet is running WorldGT, and we are the only Pro10 holdouts left, then we'd considering aligning with the rest of the industry at that point.
If a decent 200mm GTP body can be found, I may run my CRC GenX10 in 200mm form this summer. I am hoping this might make the car a little smoother because I won't have to run the hub "extensions" which seem to throw a lot of vibrations into the rear end.
Blake
No vibe in my car. I do have a few sets of extensions left that I had made.
