Title: Frankenstein WGT Car
Post by: BCbud on November 29, 2010, 04:55:09 PM
Good day!

I decided to see if I could convert an old AE 10LS T-bar 200mm chassies, that Daryl gave me, to a WGT link car. Here are some pictures.

It is a work in progress but I am happy with how it has gone so far. I am looking for a reasonably priced right hand (spur side) wheel hub as the 10LS ones are too long. The rear pod is made from my CRC 3.1 spare parts and the shock is from my old AE TC4.

Neil.

Funky shock mount!

Make sure all 5 ball joints for the link rear end lie on the same plane, and that the 3 on the rear pod are exactly in line (likely not a problem because it looks like you're using an unmodified CRC part).

I've seen way too many link cars with ball joints at different heights, which completely screws up the suspension action.  This is a very critical adjustment.

You like my shock post lol, I am just using what I have. Thanks for the tip, I didn't pay attention to that but as it turns out the pivot mounts are very close to being the same hight. Yes the complete pod is stock CRC.
