Title: Hiatus
Post by: DekelzMan on January 23, 2011, 04:24:42 PM
Hey IROCCers!

Well it should be no surprise that SpeedWeekend CE was NOT much fun for me. I got stressed out for no good reason and it caused me all kinds of grief getting my cars dialed in, which made them handle crappy, which made me more stressed, and so on.

All this tells me that it's time to take a break for a while and do some other stuff. As it turns out, my brother-in-law has decided to get married (which is a shock to the family as this guy is 2 years younger than me and always been the confirmed bachelor) and has asked if they can hold the wedding in our back yard. This is happening in August so it's time for me to pull a "Brian" and do some much needed renos at "Chateau Szirmay".

All should be complete by the time the IROCC spring season gets underway when I'm sure I'll have a renewed sense of enthusiasm for racing once more.

I hope you guys have a great indoor season and those traveling to Korgae's race and the Carpet Nationals have a blast and do well.

TTYL,

Mick

Sorry to hear we won't be seeing you around the gym Mick. Thanks for all of the time and effort you've put in for 'The Cause'. Good luck with the renos, and we'll see you around the Park & Ride for outdoor season come late Spring.

Regards,
Nick

A break is always good. I certainly hope you come back in the summer along with Phil. I need my pan car mentors!

Thanks guys,

No worries, I'll be back in the Spring for sure, just need some time off. I've also bought a 4wd offroad buggy and plan on running that this summer up in Nanaimo. Just time for a change is all :)

I'm definitely done with 1/12 for good. No more carpet racing for me anymore...I'll have some awesome stuff for sale pretty quick, probably tonight!

Mick

What buggy did you buy? Electric?  I heard 8th scale electric is pretty awesome.  If you have a receiver that will work with my spektrum 2.4ghz radio in your list of goodies, I'd be interested.

Hey Daryl,

Oh I have been monitoring the RCTech For Sale thread a great deal over the past few weeks :) Lots of good deals for some really decked out cars. The one I got has three race days on it and came with over $300.00 in brand new parts...All I need are tires and some mod motors, just need to hear from Matt on what motor he's gonna allow and what tires work on his track. It'll be a nice change. I haven't run a dirt car since.....1988.......
