Title: Xray NT1 receiver pack
Post by: rcshadow on March 26, 2011, 07:18:46 PM
To all the NT1 drivers out there that are using a lipo for their battery where did you get them from. I have looked a bit at the life batteries but it seems I would need a new charger to charge them. So if I can get a lipo and a voltage regulator it would work fine and I could charge it. But when I look all over the web the sizes don't seem to want to fit exactly. Any help would be great. Thanks.

Most newer (within the last 2 years) lipo charges can charge life cells. Even the $40 cheapie I bought off ebay can.

Hmmm interesting cause all the RC web sites and RCtech that i have read for the last week all say that a lipo or Li-ion charger is not recommended for charging a life cell. Kind of why I asked about a lipo from nt1 drivers to see what they use and where they got it from. The Ice charger that I have has been out for more than two years too so I don't think it would work properly. I guess I will keep looking for a lipo and a regulator I know I can charge that just gotta make some room for a regulator. Thanks

Is that what you use Gord? Cause I have measured the pack that is in my car
And the one on the web site seems longer which has been my problem all week lol. My  NiMh is 83.74 long and the the one in the add is 85 mm long. I know it makes the car lighter but do you have to use the optional battery plate for the battery to fit? Cause it looks great and the rest of the size is perfect even the Mah is right on. I suppose I could dremel the plate to get some extra room.

Thanks Shawn

The charger may work but not according to some of the reviews lol. But the battery won't fit in the xray and I am pretty sure the serpent one is a hump to go under and behind the fuel tank isn't it?  My sizes I got are 30.92 wide 83.74 long 17.44 high. I get to match one of the three it seems but not all three lol. Thanks again.

Hey Gord

Did you get the brass battery cover or did you modify the stock one for that. Cause again with the measurements it seems just a tad to high. But you have already used it with out issue?

That Life will fit the 720 with alittle modification.  You need to trim out the side of the battery cover, then there is lots of room.

Shawn.
