You try finding info on Central Saanich Days 2011 --- its practically a googlewhack. :)
it will be july 30-31 like always
Fixed.
Hi guys,
There is no conflict between RRR's race and CSD2011. And infact, CSD2011 is NOT a guarantee this year. I will know more by this Thursday. Stay tuned.

Haha, no Gerry is not to blame. It comes down to money unfortunately. The Lions Club is looking at running a street hockey tournament in the lacrosse box this year. Teams will pay a substantial entry fee to compete. They hope to raise more funds and sell more beer with this approach. Central Saanich Days has been struggling economically for quite a few years so they are hoping to shake things up in a positive direction.
The Lions Club felt pretty bad when giving me this news. They know that we really like the event, and they really liked having us there. So, don't take it personally; it's simply a matter of business.
I told them that we'd be more than happy to return next year if the hockey tournament doesn't pan out as well as they are hoping.

I know they have been finacially struggling last year you can see the numbers of people there has dropped off. But if it's cash they need lets help generate it if we took some of the baseballs players advise from last year let's let them bet on the winners of the races. We could set it up like horse racing with different odds for different racers. Come to think of it maybe we could raise some club money by doing it at our track. So who can get us a gambling license and who knows how to set up the odds fair.
p.s Gerry the food was great the rain was not ;)
Hey Gerry it's easy to blame the little guy. Hey whats for lunch next sunday. LOL
I'll bring the dogs.
