Went to the Coastal off-road racing track at western speedway last night as our track was bare and empty as it has been for many tuesday nights and it was great fun. Got dark quick and the skeeters were a bit of a pain but what another blast. I am seeing more and more of the appeal of off-road racing each time I go.
there were 5 of us up at nrc on tuesday.. and ill probably be up there again on sunday.. if anyone else is thinkin about goin up on sunday.. bring a table/chair.. ill have a nice 16x7 pit space thats up off the ground behind my truck,.lol
..i have to tow a car to cowichan lk, and stayin the night, so ill most likey just head up in the morn with trailer in tow..haha
I'll be going up to get some final practice before the two day race the following weekend. If anyone wants to carpool, let me know.
Mick
Hey Mick
So sometimes they race back to back Sundays then? I am going to work on making that with ya if that's alright. Are you bringing the 1/10 buggy with ya cause I will see if Doug has recovered and will make it out. So there are a few 1/10 buggies racing together.
They are running this Sunday as well as a warmup for the following weekend. They don't normally, but this is the end of the season last hurrah :)
I will be running Brian's Durango as well, I need some seat time with the little car :)
Glad to have you aboard :)
FYI guys for those of us that were gonna go out and mess around Tuesday night with off road I went to their web site and they have changed their night back to Mondays so maybe next week.
ill be interested..
Tech night is back to tonight. there was a bunch of cunfusion yesterday about it being changed to Monday nights, but that was all wrong. i'll hopefully see some of you guys out there!
So are you showing up there Aravan? Cause the web site has not changed about tech night on monday. I will charge a pack and head out there then for 6 and see if any one is there. Thanks
yup, i will be there. just got word that tech nights after tonight will be moved to Monday nights.
thanks for coming out tonight guys!!! it was lots of fun!
Great track, loads of fun.
Definitely will be out again.
+1 Vince that was loads of fun again. I will be going out again for sure. Finally getting a bit of a hang of having some wheels off the ground. ;D

how do you mean?? thaught you'd be used to it by now, you always have wheels off the ground..
Ya but it's only two usually on one side in a corner lol. Where were u thought you were gonna show up? And I see you are selling some stuff you know I am sure Bruce would appreciate it as your signature will use up less space with three items off it lol.
lol.. ya time to clear out some un-used rides, i just wish someone would hurry up and buy them....
i had planed to come out, but i got researchin ideas for my winter project and lost track of time..next think i knew it was 715 and i still had to fix the sensor wire on my truck..lol
i was going to come check it out, but my radio was still in my moms truck from sunday...
planning on next week.
It gets dark fast now I had time for two packs then couldn't see the car anymore. Vince and Brian and I were having a blast ripping around just had to make way for the SC trucks they are bigger than we are lol. Also may have to put reverse in the tekin as there are no marshals out. But this off road racing is addictive.
oh i know.. i cant wait till next summer now. i shoulda started runnin offroad way earlier...lol.and its so nice being able to show up, race, and then just leave and not have to take the track with ya..
Sorry to hear Matt. They said they are going every second Monday just FYI.
Jarrod I know what you mean man. They race from noon till five on Sunday's. No setting up anything but a pit space is a nice added feature. Leave later from home and get home after at about the same time. We were talking to one of the members about buggy racing as they have more SC trucks and he said it would be great to have some buggies out so we will have to see next time they race if we can get some buggies to just go and race for a Sunday.
It's good to hear that there is some crossover to off-road, but what about convincing some of those guys to try out 1/12 scale for the winter rather than trying to run off-road vehicles indoors. It's like us not wanting to attend Kamloop's races because they don't support our races! I know I haven't been there this summer but it sure sounds to me like off-road is starting to pull people away from IROCC's on road series. I realize Aravan is going to try to make the crossover but what about some of the others.
Daryl, this is nothing like Kamloops. Kamloops wants everything and aren't willing to give anything back in return. I'm sure CORR guys could care less if a few IROCCers join their ranks. They're having fun doing what they're doing. Most of them are not hardcore racers yet anyway, they just want to get together and have fun. The few that are developing racers may make the move over to road racing in a few years, or not.... The interest of IROCCers in offroad is simply people wanting to try something new and offroad offers that. I'm bored stiff with road racing at the moment, so are some others. This isn't an Anti-IROCC swing, it's just people trying to find new ways of having fun in a great hobby. Theres room to do both...
Hey Daryl, where are you and Barb at the moment? Staying away from stormy weather I hope! lol
Currently in Halifax with a broken down fridge, hard to keep the beer cold. Heading to Lunenburg tomorrow, where I can hopefully get it fixed. We are sort of heading west now, will have to start pushing it soon.

agreed mick.. after years of racing onroad, with pretty much the same result.. usually steady a main appearance, and being beat by the same few people every week.. its time to try something new and get beat by new people.. its just alot more relaxed.. not havin to stress about every tenth.. and man does it feel good when u can nail down the woops section and make a clean double/tripple..lol
wasnt irocc an offroad club back in the day?
tired of getting beat offed did you say jarrod.lol
Yep. IROCC was an offroad club back in the beginning. For a bunch of years it was both an onroad and an offroad club but it's always been about having fun :)
So r we going out this sunday to have fun ??
