Title: tekin on one cell
Post by: cheifman on October 13, 2011, 09:56:10 PM
I am trying to set up my tekin. I programed it and tested it with a 2 cell works good. then i hook up the voltage booster and the one cell and now the servo works but lights 1 2 and 6 7 flash.  the book says the lights mean wrong motor setting but i have checked and it is right. so i put the 2 cell on and booster off works good.  any ideas?

do you have a hotwire? you will have to set it to 1s mode from the software to work.

how have you got your booster wired? i remember hearing that i had to take the red wire out of the rx harness to run the booster which turned out to be wrong for this particular speedo. one wire coming from my booster goes to +bat and three to rx, where the speedo connects with all three of its wires to rx. i had the red wire unplugged and it wouldn't work. cant remember the lights that flashed but worked after reconnecting the red wire.

Can someone with actual experience with the tekin post some help here for setting it up. I thought it may be not saving the data or have to be reset after programming like he has said he has done. This guy is not a neubie.

you will need to change the software to 1cell and you do not take the red wire out of the receiver on a tekin. I will have my laptop & hotwire  with me if your heading up island or you can drop by the house on the weekend with your car

A good starting point for boost/timing/gearing:

Boost = 50
High RPM = 7500
Low RPM = 2500
Turbo = 10
Delay = 0.4
Ramp = 2

Rollout = 80mm

mine is almost the same

Boost = 45
High RPM = 7500
Low RPM = 2500
Turbo = 15
Delay = 0.5
Ramp = 3

Rollout = 76mm

Hope to see ya up there.

I think he is using a Novak 17.5 so if memory serves me correctly I think they already have some timing in them cause I smoked one when I used it with the boost and timing.

If it's the silver Novak 17.5 it has about 32deg build in so the setting would be lower in boost. From what I understand
You do not want to go past a total of 60deg total
