Title: Work mate for a few hours.
Post by: valk on December 20, 2013, 01:41:49 PM
Ive been able to get a good start on prepping the outside boundary of the track for paint. Been kinda busy/sick this week so icould use one persons help on saturday for a couple hours to finish prep sanding the boards so ican get the first coats of primer on. Might only take an hour but up to 3 with two people. Quite a lot of smoothing to make he boards safe to handle.

Id plan to start early in the afternoon probably.

if one of you has an electric orbital sander that could help. i have two and air powered ones. i dont think you guys want to listen to the air sanders for a few hours though.
ill make a stop at crappy tire to see about getting somre 5" 60-80grit discs though as ive been trying to milk the life out of two of them.
unless one of you has those.

i can pick you both up, or give you the address. whichever works. 1pm is great. i dont liek to wake up that early on a saturday ha.

shawn; my car has developed a Cel, could you please bring your obd2 reader to check it?

Nick, I will be coming from town, so I'll meet you at your shop around 1PM.  I have no useful tools to contribute.

I can meet you at the shop. I have an orbital sander (I will have to check on sanding disks), and another electric sander.   I will put the OBD2 scanner in the truck.  I will be out Xmas shopping for the wife, but I am meeting Nigel tomorrow for the SP programmer at 1pm. So I will be alittle after that.. Probably around 1:30ish. If you dont see me by 2, then you know my Xmas shopping has gone to heck!  Just pm the address.

Shawn.

Sorry Nick for not making it to the shop... By the time I was done in Oak bay, it was closer to 2pm, and then I still had to make it thru all that Xmas traffic.   Wouldn't have made it there until after 3.   Did you and blake manage to get it finished?

Shawn.

its no problem shawn. blake and i got through the boards just after 3pm. then i had to clamp them to the table to see if i can do somthing about the wicked warp they have developed =| I might enlist some help in scuffing the boards one evening after work  and possibly filling/prepping the staircase rails as those are BUTTUGLY and have to be pristine. but for the most part, the big labour big is done.
assuming i can make them straight again that is lol.

I remember those warps when brain and I had painted them a few years ago. why are you sanding and priming them? they are outer boards that had ten dollars worth of yellow paint on them.
