Title: Maintenance (or Lack Of)
Post by: Shawn68z on October 13, 2014, 05:45:13 PM

Ok, so I decided to run touring car this winter, but I couldn't remember that last time I have ever taken this car apart.  So, after 3 hours last night, and another 2 hours this morning.. This is what I found.

3 bent screws holding the suspension on (front).
2 seized hub bearings in the rear. (one each side)
1 "notchy" bearing in the middle shaft.
1 bent rear suspension holder pin (rear)
1 ball diff, that wasn't diffing.
all the pulleys were so full of dirt that the notches were over half full. (I have been suspect belt slippage)
CV Joints in the front had flat pins, and egg shaped holes!
and 2 of the suspension arms would not drop under their own weight. (completely binding..)

So what does this all mean,  Pan Car is WAY easier to maintain, and for the cost of the Xray parts I replaced, I could have bought a Spec R chassis... Terrible.

The car is a 2006.  I think I bought this car in....2009-2010.  It hasn't been run all the time, but it has atleast 5 seasons of use on it. Maybe more.
