Hi, I just heard from Debbie at the SOOKE COMMUNITY HALL
Sign a contract, no gas remotes, can be bumped for a function
:) FREE STORAGE
 AVAILABLE SATURDAY OR SUNDAY
 $100.00 TOTAL PER WEEK
well i dont think anyone has any gas 12 scale cars........ so sounds great!to me thanks for all your work i look forward to a FULL season of 12 scale
Sounds good the only thing I don't like is that we could be bumped for a function. Is that even if we have a contract for the season?

well i wouldnt even notice being bumped once or twice through the whole season as that would be nothing compared to sanich fairgrounds as that happened often even when we already only had 2-3 races in a couple month spand
We've already been bumped from Saanich once already, and we haven't even started racing there yet!
sounds about right for sanich!
Regarding the bump issue. I know when I phones both the Churchs and community type centers they were willing to welcome us as regulars but if someone (usually one of the community or church members) wanted to hold a function we would be automatically bumped. In all case they could not gaurantee us any full saturdays. So in the worst case scenraio we could get only one or no days of racing a month.
Damons leads sound a little more firmed up, and we would not get bumped.

Re: Bumping at Sooke Community Hall
Depends first of all what day we pick.
If we pick Saturday we could be bumped for a Wedding but there is nothing booked yet....
I think in November there is a Craft Fair on a Sunday?, that was it so far.
I got the impression it is available to us most weeks.
As far as the Price, Availability of Saturday or Sundays, Free storage, Gym size, I don't think we can go wrong. I really can't see us doing better for the price. Maybe this way the racing fee per week would only be $5.00/$10.00 as well, something to think about. I will leave it all up to you. If you want this one let me know and somebody would have to see the Sooke Community Hall and sign the contract. - Laurie 642-5844.
If Beaver Lake pans out we will get all the above AND not have to worry about getting bumped. Hopefully we will hear from them early next week.
I suspect that fees will remain at $15 even if we get a smoking deal. We do have a $5-6K trailer we are looking at - new carpet would be nice, club insurance, etc, etc. I'm assuming the Execs would prefer to keep us from running near the red.
well i think the travel time to sooke is small price to pay.........and if we get free storage there shouldnt be a need to buy a bigger trailer.......atleast not right now..............and i also think that it would be a good idea to reduce rates if it is able to be done at 100 bucks a nite there is no need to have the club makin twice that after paying rent........it is a non profit club after all............just my opinion!
Yes Beaver lake sounds AWESOME!!!!! I hope that pans out.
Like Doug says driving to sooke is a very very very very very very small price for me to pay personally to run everyweek when we want to!!!!
Distance (within reason of course - driving to Nanaimo every weekend would bite) is of little concern to me. #1 racing every week and #2 heat (what can I say - I was born in tropical Victoria....)
i personally dont care if its heated as long as we can race
I concur,
Let's race regardless if it is at some school, community center or Pearkes
Let's just race.........
