Title: Mini-Z Numbers
Post by: RC51 on October 17, 2005, 12:53:41 PM
Hey, everyone.

Just wondering if I could get an estimate on the number of people in the south island area that have a Mini-Z and would like to get together say, on a Tuesday or Wednesday night for some fun? I've just purchased some RCP track that is an absolute blast and I would like to get something going. I also saw a schematic for a Mini-Z lap counter so I'd be looking at either buying one or making one, too! Could be a real hoot! Let me know. Ciao.

I don't have one yet.  Would an I-Wave be a good one to start with?

I have too many to reveal the numbers. Barry has some as well and Adam Baxter has a few.

Check out Adam's tractk:

eBay from Hong Kong. 1/2 to 1/3 of the price compared to the shaver shop and one of mine showed up in about 4 days, the second one showed up in a week and 4 days, no duty/tax, no brokerage. Maybe I just got lucky?

Only buy real Kyosho mini-Z's read the ads carefully.

I'm assuming we will be running stock setups to start with?

Nah.  I want to see these things run with a nitro conversion!

Hey, all.

Track has arrived! Unfortunately I need to pick it up in Vancouver, so on my way back from Peel-It Raceway next week I'll swing by on Thursday and it should be home for the weekend.

In response to the stock/mod issue, yes, I think that stock is a good place to start. I've seemn the mod versions run (more fets and a hand-wound modified ... in stalled for $50.00 BTW) and they rip! I personally have seen one hit almost 30 mph. The stock version I have is geared waaay low since the two tracks I run on have been quite technical and tight. I've been running a 17t pinon w/stock spur. NiMH batteries are great and they're cheap. Lots of punch.

More to folow.
Ciao.

Phil.........Dude........where is a good place to get one?  Not many at the LHS from what I've seen.  You should sketch out a few "rules/guidelines" for the interested parties.  I wouldn't mind getting one - they look cool.
