Is our current storage situation at the B&G permanent, or are we still going to be making a shed?
If so, when?
I would like to add that if indeed we deciede to build a shed at the side of the building you may want to check with the city and the fire dept, before doing so. It would be a shame if we spent time building storage and at the first annual business inspection they put in an order to have the shed removed due to zoning or property line set back issues.
Just a thought
RYY
The fire dept has already said no to a shed.
so does the club have a plan B
Why did they say no to the shed? Is it because they need access to the 10 foot drop off the side of the building where we would put the shed?
in think its a fire lane issue, there has to be a certain number of feet between the building and the fence.
yes jarrod is correct, the Gym has a large seating capacity making the fire exit an important issue. There is one last option we are hashing out and will post details shortly, it requires some elbow grease though.
I realize there needs to be two exits, etc for the gym. The exit into the fire lane at the back pretty much requires the escapies to take a tight right out the door. The other option is going left and climbing a 6' fence and jumping onto a lean to roof 8 feet below the top of the fence. Well for the first guy at least. Then he takes out the lean too and its more like a 12' - 14' drop for the rest of the lemmings.
Or is there not enough room to get our shed to the left of those doors?
I dont know, it wasnt a B+G decision the fire marshal was involved. Your last post reminds me of the Seinfeld episode where George is volunteering with some handicapped kids and old-folks try to show off how sensitive he is too some woman and then bulldozes them runing for the door during a fire alarm. LOL
Kurk,
All I know is that the fire marshal said "no". I suppose it would be "ok" if the shed could go to the left of those doors you're talking about. I don't think there's 14' of room there though. We can take a look tomorrow.
Jody,
Haha, yeah that episode of the Sein is great:
Jerry: So you feel "women and children first," in this day and age, is somewhat of an antiquated notion.
George: To some degree.
Jerry: So basically, it's every man, woman, child, and invalid for themselves.
George: In a manner of speaking.
