it happened to me once too many times on races last week and it's not like the hit and pass persons was a leader. i was lapping them. not saying i am fast or anything but ppl just go full speed into corners and take you out. it sucks.
i think one should slow down after rear ending someone in the corner and let that person retake the front. but i know most of us don't do that i only see a few ppl doing it and it is great to see so.
ya that comes with time and happens less as you move up in the heats. People tend to use the trigger as an on and off switch until they learn to gentley squeeze and let go oof the throttle. When I was announcing on the weekend I suggested to let off the gas at the end of the straight but almost everyone continued to hit the end board at full speed almost every lap all night.
thats y everyone gets out of the D and sometimes C as fast as possible
The attitude I have taken is worry about yourself first. By that I mean if I am patient with slower drivers they will take themselves out without your help, just stay clear of them at that point. Ken chances are if you waited until you had wide open space to pass other drivers their would be enough room for both of you to cleanly avoid one another, or try verbalizing to the driver you are about to over take, tell them your position and let them know that your are passing on one side or another. If they are anything like me they only see about 2 inches in front of and behind their car and they do not even realise you are there until they have already hit you, so verbilizing would certainl help. I can say I was in the "C" last week and I got lapped so many times I felt like I was driving in the "D" as everytime I had someone on me I was unsure of there direction, some guys let you continue your line, then they will drive around you. While other guys expect you to just pull over. Either way just look out for your self and the slower drivers orr in my case the faster drivers will find their own way around the track. If you stay out of their way, they will stay out of yours!!

it really is the wide open throttle that kills people. It is ok to go wide open, but gradually. Like I said it is not an on and off switch but that takes a year or more to figure out. Slower is really faster as lame as that sounds, you dont really need brakes, try slowing down soon enough to make the corners without any brakes, even the 180's.
Funny we were just talking about this. Your best bet in the D is to gear down a few teeth. If you are hitting the walls you have too much speed. Gearing down will help you learn to control the car better. You also need to turn your dual rate steering way down. Most of you have way too much steering which makes the car undriveable. I usually use around 65% of my steering.
Go way slower - you will end up way faster in your lap times, etc. If you can make it around the track without hitting anything regarless of your speed (other than dead stop) you will be in the C mains. 8 minutes is a long race and you've got lots of time to correct any mistakes you make in the D. Concentrate on getting back on the line smoothly not quickly after a crash. If I had to learn how to drive from scratch again I would turn my throttle down to half and learn how to drive without crashing at that speed then gradually add speed as I learned to control the car at low speeds. Learn to drive the car then add speed... you don't drive your real car by putting the petal to the metal then mashing the brakes on. You feather the throttle, etc...
