I was wondering what you guy's think about this idea,
For the night of DEC 17. How about if we all bring in a non-per. food item. let say if we bring in a can of soup, or a box of KD we could take a dollar off of our racing fees/up to five dollars off. or we could donate five dollars from each entrance fee. As the money would go further since the mustard seed can buy in case lots. I know this could not happen next week. too soon. I would contact the mustard seed. and possibily the news group. to do an article for the newspaper.

I think donating would be a great idea but is there a better way to get more bang for your buck? Can we use $$ to get more food at cost or wholesale, etc? Eg could we put XX $$ to Thrify's and they could give it to us at cost instead of each one of us going out and paying full price? That way those who need the food get more for the same amount of $$ or more people get food for the same $$....
The best way is to donate money, then the Mustard Seed or whatever charity can buy the goods at wholesale.
Without any real decision made by the exec. and club members at last Sat. night's racing, I took it upon myself to make a couple of donations from the Club. A donation of $500 was split between the Mustard Seed and the Open Door to help them through this time of year. Everybody seemed to agree that we could support some charity and both of these were bantered about by different members of the exec. If anybody has a problem with my actions, I am sorry but the cheques have been written and delivered today. Thanks, Andrew, for suggesting that we do this.

Awesome! I think this is an excellent way for us to give back to the community. That was a stand up kind of thing for the club to do. Great job guys....
