Bleh! Never buy an MR-01 unless its next to free - the MR-02 are soooo much nicer. The 01 is like a pogo stick, no brakes, etc, etc...
its not to bad, once yopu get used to it and fix it up a bit.
What you talkin' about Kurk? My 01 kicks butt. As Jarrod said, set it up properly and it will be really fast. When I come back from overseas I'll show you an 01 that will make you drool !!!
isnt the one you have thats insanely fast an o1?? hey kurk jim used his 01 on tuesday, could you tell when he switched from 02 to 01?? i couldnt . other than the speed difference becaus eone hasd a sweet motor in it
Jim does yours have brakes or does it make the aweful grinding noise when you hit reverse at the end of the straight then kick the rear end out sideways?
Its not the speed - you can make anything go fast - its the handling between the two. The 01 I drove was like driving a chuck wagon or an old buckboard. It bounced, chattered and hopped all over the track - the 02 glided around the corners as smooth as silk... maybe its the set up but I would think its pretty tough to get the 01 smooth without any damping and no brakes is an issue too... of course if you add those things then the 01 is hopped up to an 02...
does it really matter........ it would seem to me theese are cars my kids should be playing with, theese mini zs are not race cars they are toys......................................lol im joking looks like fun kinda but i just think with all the hype i was expecting alot more from them
Yes I believe it has brakes. I use a module for my M8 with it so it has as many adjustments as any touring car. With these cars you could think of brakes as a degree of reverse, just set it up that way. No grinding from mine. As far as bouncing and chattering, its all in the setup. Jarrod tried one of my graphite H plates and he said it made a big difference. As you know there are a ton of aftermarket parts for these and most of the cool ones are under $20. Doug, these are definitely small RACE cars. You should see some of these things go. I don't look at them any differently than touring or 1/12th scale cars. You can take them at any level you want. Stock ones are good - modified ones are better. You truly need skills to pilot these cars well around the track. Come out and try next time, I think you'll be surprised.
