If you have one to sell, let me know. I may have to buy new;  Any suggestions around the $150-200 mark?

I've heard otherwise and that they blow up and stuff.  I think the LHS can tell you that there have been a few return.  Is that true Dave?

what can i say....there have been issue's with that model of duratrax charger but I haven't seen a problem one in a while, like 9 months, which could mean they fixed it and the problem units have blown if they were going to.

its a good charger with excellent option's, but it's in my bad books......

my 2 cents

I got an ICE for xmas last year and it has really served me well. Best charger I've used! I had heard bad things about it but the only problem I could find online was about it blowing up lipo's, but you can do that with almost any charger.

I've got nothing but good things to say about my DuraTrax Intellipeak Ice charger.

Oh sure, it would be nice if it discharged at 20 amps instead of only 10 amps, and charged higher than it's 8 amp max, but after all, it's not a Victor Hi IQ! :-)

Bang for buck wise, I don't think there is (currently) a better new charger available on the market. JMHO

i know a good quality charger that almost everyone can trust are the victor hi-iq's.  yes they may be old for R/C standards, but im my opinion, one of the better chargers out there.  and there in your price range too. there must be over 15 of them in the club now.

check ebayfor, victor HI-IQ, or victor super2 HI-IQ.  or you can check rctech.net, i know ive seen a few on there.

The Hi Q is a dated but useful charger.  You can also upgrade the software in it.

Yes my charger (ICE) blew up but its beefed up now.  I think there was a design problem with the original ones but since the first run they have proved themselves to be robust and reliable.

I charge Li-Polys with it as well - works like a dream (an not a Triton ;)

I know of a guy selling an hi iq for 150 in Calgary.  Not sure his name but I could find out pretty easy. what cells are you going to be using.  I do have an MRC 959  I could sell pretty cheap.  It only charges @ 4.5 amps max.  so if your gonna use the new IB3800.  I would not sell  you this. As they need at least a good linar charge of 6 amps.  for 3300's would work not to much punch but you would get the run times for sure.  and would take about 35 minutes to charge you pack.  sell it to you for 35.  It would get you started.

I'm going to be using the NP GP 3300's.  Getting 5 packs for $120.  Only used a handfull of times.  Is the MRC 959: 4amp, AC/DC, discharge, dual charge, adjustable peak charger any good?  Guy is asking $90

It'll take an awful long time to charge your packs at 4 amps.
Most people charge at 6 amps which takes a little over half an hour; it's nice to have some leeway in your carger in case you need to charge quicker than that.  If you max out the charge rate of that charger, it'll take over 40 minutes to charge.

I'm also not aware of how suitable this charger is for different battery chemistries (NiCad, NiMH, etc.).

well 4.5 amps isnt much especially if you ever want to run anything with more capacity than 3300s i know at 6 amps it takes my charger 35 min to charge 3300 so at 4.5 amps i would think atleast 45 min.........really im sure it isnt too bad of a deal but if your gonna be in this for any length of time it would be better just to get a decent charger right off the start..........get team much more charger i beleive its 250 at shaver......its very good charger i use the team orion  it charges up to 10 amps  with step charging and has a 10 amp discharge and can do motor break in  run a com laithe i think its just over the 200 mark
