Title: pullstart to starter box

i have a ntc3 pullstart and i just got a starter box to make life easy.in order to use the starter box what changes do i have to do or can i just take out the spring of the pullstarter.

You can do one of two things.

1)  Do nothing.

or

2)  Convert your engine from a pull-start to a non-pull-start.  In order to do this, you need a new backplate and gasket, and either a new crankshaft, or cut the pull-start pin off the end of your existing crankshaft.  Without the pull start, you also have the option of using a smaller diameter flywheel along with lowered motor mounts.

I wouldn't do anything with the spring.
