Fun First Summer Club Day!
Yesterday marked IROCC's first summer club race of 2026 and it turned out to be a great day in the sun.  Thanks to everyone who made it out for racing, including a handful of new racers!  Big shoutout to Ben C, Colin B, David W, Jeff G, Josh S, Nolan G, and Rocky T for joining in on the fun.

Even with a slow track build, we managed to get in a full program of racing with three rounds of qualifying and mains.  Next race will be much quicker for track setup and we'll have more practice time and a lunch break.

The highlight of the day was the new Losi NASCAR class brought to us by BC Hobbies.  These cars really impressed and it was awesome to see a lot of new/novice racers out there racing them.  Stay tuned for a follow-up post from Dan L giving a post race review of this class and suggestions for new racers on how they can get involved in this class for bare bones pricing.

First Summer Club Race, this Sunday May 24th

This Sunday May 24th is IROCC's first club race of the Summer 2026 season.  We're going to start the track build early at 9:00AM as it will take a little longer on the first day.  All racers are expected to help with this unless you have a valid reason (work, church, medical, etc).  If you can, please bring a push broom or leaf blower to help clean the parking lot after a winter of grime buildup.

New/Novice Racers
We will have you shadow our more experienced crew to learn how the track goes together.  Then, when it comes to racing, we have lots of helpful club members to assist you with any questions you may have about your car or general racing etiquette.

What To Bring
First and foremost, bring your RC car, transmitter, and any tools you might have.  Bring a table/chair and ideally a popup tent or umbrella to stay out of the elements.  Finally, bring some power source to charge your RC batteries.  If you don't have any of these items there is a strong possibility you can borrow some of it at the track.

Fun Final Race Night
Thanks to everyone who attended last Saturday's club race.  We wrapped up our indoor season with a fun race night and lots of close battles on the track.

Huge shoutout to Sue L for setting a personal best performance on the last night of the season!  After racing a few weeks in a row you can clearly see how she's improved her speed and consistency.  Keep up the great work Sue!

Thank you to all racers for a fun season of carpet racing.  See you on the pavement in May!

Final indoor club race this Saturday April 18th
This Saturday evening is our final club race of the indoor season.  Doors open at 4:00pm and track setup starts at 4:10pm.  All local racers are expected to help with track setup (reasonable exceptions are fine).

We will run a full race program with three qualifiers followed by the mains.  Make sure your cars are ready to go.

Good Race Night!
Thanks to everyone who made it out for racing on Saturday.  We had a nice turnout and lots of close racing.  Setup and teardown were both quick and efficient.  Thank you to everyone that goes the extra mile to make this process smooth.

Shoutout to Carter H for a strong performance in 12th Scale, finishing 5th in a very competitive A-Main!

Tim B had a really strong night running a loaner 12th Scale from Gerry B.  Tim was quick all night running very clean and consistent laps which seems to be his hallmark.  Great work Tim!

Since his return to racing, Ryan P continues to refine his driving in both TC and 12th Scale.  He's looking downright sporty out there now and we're seeing him in more A-Mains than B-Mains lately.  Keep it up Ryan.

It was awesome to see Bob C on the track in his first onroad action since 2020!

Fun Race Night!
Thanks to everyone who made it out for racing last Saturday.  We had a smaller turnout which allowed for extra practice and an earlier finish to the evening.  In general racing was pretty clean in all heats.

Avery B was quickest in TC throughout the night, eventually taking TQ and the A-Main victory.

Congrats to Dan L for taking the win in 12th Scale after some strong qualifying runs.  It was quite tight near the top and Dan ran a clean main for the win.

Phil C had some really good runs in 12th Scale qualifying.  Luck was not on his side in his main but his car looks very good out there.

Ryan P ran well in TC to take 3rd overall and Daryl J put in some good runs in 12th Scale bumping into the A-Main.
