Newb questions please: For the 1/10 scale electric races, do use foam or rubber tires?

I'm lookin at the t2 07' model. It has an EU foam edition, and an US rubber tire model...just wondering which one I should be buying.

Thanks, Micholi.

I would fo for the Us rubber version.  As we don't race 10scale on the rug(carpet).  unless you are planning on doing some out of town racing were they race 10 scale touring on carpet.  In other words go for the Us version

Just to stir the pot alittle, I would go for the carpet version, as the asphault surface we run on is so smooth, the extra flex the US version wont be needed. If am not mistaken, then EU version also comes with the Multi-Diff, and the US version has a standard diff.

I have the T2 (2006) model, and run the chassis really stiff. I have noticed that the car is more agile, responsive, and quicker into and out of corners.

When the chasis is flexing all the time, you cant dial your shock/springs correctly, so your car might be 'good' but it wil never be 'perfect'.

I think and setup a little differently that that. I have the Corally RDX PHI Carpet Spec but after the first month I swapped out the chassis plate (2.9 mm) for the asphalt version (2.4 mm) including the top deck. I also pulled out the centre brace that stiffens the bulkheads and changed the shorter carpet shock towers to the taller asphalt ones. Smoothness is addressed primarily by the suspension whereas the major difference is in the interplay of chassis flex and traction differences between carpet and asphalt.

its the other way around

EU is for rubber

US is for foam

i run the EU on med/soft flex setting

Uh yea - I have the EU version and with the default settings the car is an absolute dream - loving it!  Just wish the bearing were bigger...

Of course the nice thing about the T2 is if you want more flex/less flex, you can adjust it with screws, or buy the US/EU conversion kit. Then you have all the tuning options at your disposal.

in actuality the only difference between the us and eu kits are the springs, chassis, and topdeck

There are some other minor differences too. The EU version has the H plastic parts, 48P gears, and the front One Way Mutli-Diff. The US version has the XH plastic, 64P and a standard diff for the front.

In my previous post I got the EU and the US versions mixed up. I dont know why Xray just doesnt call the kits the 'Carpet Version' and the 'Asphalt Version'.
