Hi, folks.

We're pleased to let you know that we have secured a good source of affordable balancing weights to address the issues involved in the shift to LiPo. Mick and I have weighed a variety of cars and determined where and how much weight will likely need to be added and these weights are definitely the ticket and much easier to deal with than lead alternatives.

T-Bang has opted to carry Tungsten plates for balancing. The particular manufactured plates we chose are 1.8 times heavier than lead, they have  screw mounting holes and they fit into the battery slots on your car. The weights are 2.5mm thick which should make them usable on the vast majority of chassis out there. They will come in a package of 4 plates at .5 oz each.

To supplement the plates, we will carry a small amount of 1 oz Tungsten Putty packs that can be molded to fit whatever nook and cranny you'd like to add weight to.

We anticipate that the Tungsten weights will be in our hands next week. I'll be testing them out in Kelowna at the end of the month to see if they hold up in a TC. All indications from the source suggest that they are the way to go and that they have been having serious inquiries from the industry about availability.

I'll post here when they are in stock. Thanks!

Hi, Shawn.

These, along with a whack of other things should arrive either today or tomorrow - they were shipped Monday from the US via UPSR Expedited. We won't know final pricing until it lands, although I anticipate the $11.00 range. I'll post as soon as they arrive.
