Anyone have a Speed Passion Revention LED or LCD Programming Card?  I ordered Cameron a new ESC, but apparently the model I ordered doesn't ship with the programmer.. (But comes with a Free USB cable.... Weird).. I don't have it yet, but it should be here this week. I just need to make sure its in Blinky mode, because I think it comes with Turbo/Boost mode.

Anyone have any experience with these ESC's?

you might have to head to coast offroad and talk to nigel. he runs the reventon pro. I have a reventon stock club race but no programmer for it. did you get him the R or the pro? if its for 1/12, make sure to disable LVC. mine wouldnt work with it on at any setting.

My order receipt says it the R model, so the Boost/Turbo is turned on. Acording to SP's website the LED controller is included, and the LCD controller is optional.  According to A-Main its included, RC-Mart says its not.   I just don't know.   I have found reference on SP's website that the Revention S, and R both come with it standard.  The pdf manual for the Revention is for the Club Sport, S, and R models, and it says the programmer card is optional.  So, I wont really know if I have the LED card until I get it.

I was curious to about the "Profiles", the website sounds like there is 4 profiles built into the unit (Stock 0 = Blink, Stock 1 = Auto Boost/Turbo, Mod0 and Mod1), but then I read the manual abit, and it sounds more like a Hobbywing, and you have to upload different fw for each "mode".  The more I read the manual the more I think its just a HW in a different case actually.

I will let you know how I make out when it arrives.  Should be here by next weekend...

my hobbywing doesnt need you to actually change the firmware to run mod vs stock. it can store like 9 different profiles. same with my brushless hobbies which i think its hobbywing 2.1 based.

as for the speed passion, i cant help you there as the stock club only has one profile, slow. lol.

I think only the pro comes with the programmer box. the s/r if it comes with one, would be the old card style one. but dont quote me on that.

Just head over to the victoria citidel on a sunday that cor is racing and nigel can set you right up. a few of those guys are running speed passion. unless of course you get the programmer after all.

i probably WILL buy one... just been a while since ive done an amain order. Its much cheaper than the hobbywing or orca.. the orca is just rediculous lol.

You have the HW  v3 esc, which allows multiple profiles. V2.x HW doesn't allow that. Only one profile at a time, and you have to change the FW to switch between mod, stock, and blinky.

Well my order finially showed up today (On a Sunday?)  But anyways.. The ESC is the Revention R, so it can run mod.. Not that Cameron needs that of course, but its nice to have options.    The unit did come with a USB cable, but nothing to plug the USB cable into.  Weird.    SO now I am definitely on the hunt for a ESC programmer for the SP Revention R. I will try and make contact with Nigel.. Where is this Coast Off Road?  Never heard of it.  IN the meantime, I am going to order a programmer, and do alittle reason to see if I can program HW FW onto it. I know some of the Speedpassion is HW. (Same with Orion, and others.)

The motor that came with the ESC is really nice!  Variable timing, vented. It also came with a "bonus", it included one of Yeah Racing's Hurricane Fans ($8 normally).

Still pretty happy with the purchase though, $85 ROAR legal MOD Speedo, 17.5T Motor, and Fan.... If only it had a programmer with it..  :(

Corvictoria.com. Look up nigel or make a post. If your gonna order a program box can you get two? They are very cheap i just dont order from amain that much atm.

If you look through the speed passion thread, people have been modding the pros with muchmore software. No mention of the lesser models though.
I like my reventon mostly. Has the punch needed and is very smooth. I hate how the wires attach for he rx ect but i guess its better than opening the case to do repairs.
Looks sharp too.

Ps. For 1/12, install it similar to tekin. With he booster cap ect and leave he rx wire intact. Dont pull any wires. Just solder up the booster and disable lvc. Officially it doesnt support single cell but does work.

I don't know when I will be putting in an order.... If I can locate nigel before Speedweekend, then I probably wont be ordering one until I order my nitro motor in spring.

On a side note... Figured out what happened to the wife's mazda.... Fuel Injector #2 is all messed up... Squirts fuel, and leaking.. Doesn't "spray"... The cylinder just stinks of fuel.   Have one on order. $60 Shipped.  Locally they want $140 for a Rebuid! Ouch!

thats good to hear. as long as the cylinder didnt get hydrolocked and damage the rod, pin bearings ect. that was quite a trip lol.
ps, you can probably adjust your reventon with the buttons but its a huge pita to do. Id ALMOST wanna get a rev R to run in blinky 12th scale. not sure if the 40 amps of my stock club race was sufficient though it definitely seemed to work. reventon R is a more attractive option than the hobbywing i think.

626 Motor is fine.   Cleaned up the injectors today, and its already running much better. Stumbles on idle abit, but that one injector is making a lot of noise.   I am sure it will be fine when the new one gets hear.

Btw, I sent a PM to nigel on Cor's website, and he is more then willing to help me out with the Speedpassion, so thanks for pointing me that way.  I am putting an order in later tonight for my own LED programmer, but I don't think its going to make it here before Speedweekend with the holidays.

Cheers,
Shawn.
