Dont know if there are all that many people in the club really into computers. it guys i suppose but i mean really INTO computers. building them, tweaking them and customizing them as we do with our rc cars.

long before i got into real cars and definitely the rc ones, i would build and overclock computers from the ground up. the hobby has moved into the mainstream in a big way of late so the term overclocker is almost as ubiquitous as facebook.. or mobile phones.. but the roots were quite different. you used to buy the cheapest frack you could get your hands on and brag about how you could make that garbage perform on par with the top of the line stuff.
yes, i had a number of $100 cpus that would match witts with the $1000 offerings of the day thanks to hardware and software tricks and extreme overclocking with extremely exotic cooling systems.

These days, with mainstream overclockability in most motherboards it has become a pay to play hobby which is a little sad, but there is still room for the customization in a users rig. watercooling has made MASSIVE strides into the mainstream with companies like xspc, swiftech, ek ect producing off the shelf parts that readily available where everything in my time had to be custom made lol.

I recently rejoined the overclockers arms race by upgrading my desktop that i built back in 2007... lol. old core 2 duo system that couldnt handle modern software or games.
I upgraded to a midrange i5 4670k system and i figured it was about time to upgrade my liquid cooling as well to suit the job.

my rig as it has been of late since the upgrade... sprawled out on the bench testing overclock and stuff. all that, has to go back into my 6 year old lian li pcv600.

having cut a big hole in the top 6 years ago, i made a new top that is a little cleaner for the new installation. Radiator is installed and im ready to start plumbing.

more to come. just thought some of you might be intersted. i doubt many have seen a liquid cooled computers before.
