Hey, all. Track's open on Tuesday night.

Again, what a hoot. Four of us had at it for 3 hours straight of Mini-Z racing on Sunday afternoon. Some folks were unable to come out on Sunday and as such I left the track set up and ready for use. The track will be open from 6 PM onward on Tuesday night for anyone who is interested (drop me an emailPhil@CLSWEST.com) or give me a call (882-2965) if you are into it. So far there are 6 people committed to coming out so if you have a car or are interested in seeing what this is all about, just come on out! The RCP track is amazing and very high bite. The one that Brian, Mike and I set up this wekend takes up approx 20 feet X 18 feet and it's both fast on the straight and technical on the infield. The foam rails are nice since you can whack the boards quite hard and not damage a thing.

BTW, I went into Source (Circuit City aka Radio Shack) on Saturday and you can pick up a complete XMod kit for less than $100 NIB with radio and so on. All of the hop up parts are available for them, too. Not having seen Jim's cars just yet, I can't say how they run, but I hear that they are competitive. Rear has indipendent suspension rather than solid axle, so who knows. All cars are stock motor only at this time.

See you at the races.

Hi All,
They are quite a good deal, and stylish too.  Check out some of the Xmod sites - tons of cool info.  Virtually all of the parts are replaceable with very cool alloy ones by GPM.  There are lots of different chassis too - from metal to graphite.  Have a look at Ebay.  Search Xmod under toys and hobbies.
Can't wait to get back in town!!!!!!
See you all then,
Jim

Hey, everyone.

Watch this thread for track times and info.

Thanks for those who came out last night. It was fun and I think that Kurk is officially hooked!

Those little things run forever. Last PM we tried the new GP 950 AAA batteries ($26 for a set of 4 from the battery store in Hillside) and they lasted almost 40 minutes. We started a second round of racing and then I ordered pizza. The pizza arrived before the boys had finished their pack of batteries! Amazing.

As Blake experienced last night, tires can make a big difference. I'll be heading over to Vancouver on Monday and I will be picking up some tires (foam and rubber) and a few extra spare parts - H-plates, bearings, pinions etc. If anyone wants anything in particular, please let me know ASAP and I will compile a list. My plan is to be back on Monday night and the track will be open on Tuesday at 6PM again.

Come on out!

Thanks again Phil - I had a blast - and thanks to all the guys (Phil, Mike, Brian and Blake) who let me take their car(s) around the track.  Like you said very high bite and the cars are quite darty - kinda like the 12th scale cars.  Anyhow its a blast - unfortunately the Christmas season has hit the bank account hard but I'm having fun buying toys for other people ;)

Hey, everyone.

Just a quick note here to let you know that a new Mini-Z road course will be up and running for Tuesday night 6PM-9PM (or whatever). I will be heading to Vancouver tomorrow, MOnday AM, so this is your last chance to get a list of parts to me if you need some.

If you are planning on coming out on Tuesday or if you need me top p/u some parts, please confirm via Phil@CLSWEST.com

Looking forward to another fun night.

Phil do you know how much the foam tires are?

Hi there.

I picked up some rubber tires while in Vancouver and the fronts generally run $8-10 per pair. Ken will be receiving a shipment next week and will hold 10 pairs of foam directly from Italy.

I also think that if we flip the track over we can use the smooth side which should allow us to use rubber and in some cases the actual stock rubber. I'll set that up for next week's track. This week (tonight) is a new layout but the same surface as last time.

Ciao.
