Wow.

That's about all that I can really say (although I'll likely find a few more words) about the Peel-It Raceway track.

I went through 10 packs there on Wednesday. The track was awesome to race on even though I was the only one running on road. It was very cool to have the track to myself since I wanted to play with my lessons learned about setup for a while.

The surface is unbelievable and is very unique with respect to feel of your car. It's smooth ... the 12 foot high driver stand was amazing. It seemed that you could just get a better feel for everything to do with the track.

I threw a stock into my ATLAS and a 19T in my Yokomo BD and just worked on setup all night. This is a great place to do just that. The track was very cold (I could see my breath) but the room itself was just fine in my sweatshirt. I had so much traction (Sorex 27 then RP 30, then Sorex 32 then finally Sorex 36) it was unbelievable. It's not as twitchy and telepathic as carpet, but better than any asphalt that we could ever see in Vic. I actually ended up using Sorex 32 in the end, but went up two spring rates in the front for the BD. I'd likely drop back on spring rate and increase the oil weight to 40 in the front. Droop seetings were critical as always, but even more so than at our track. I was curious and stuck as to why the BD was always swapping ends until I took a 1/4 turn on the rear droop setting and it all settled down. Wow ... so much to learn and so much fun doing it!

As far as downsides are concerned, the lane markers are very unforgiving but the lanes are freaking huge. I tagged the wall only a couple of times and the last run of the evening cost me a RH steering knuckle – but at least that was it for broken parts. Other than that, the Nitro gave me a bit of a headache but that may also have been because I was so ga-ga over the track and my experience there, that I forgot to eat!

If anyone is interested in doing an onroad road trip, I think that it would be fun for anyone. It would be great to head down for a race some time (US ROAR Stock Nats there in 2006) but I'd also think it would be an absolute hoot to head down with a couple of your friends and just burn around the track all day working on your car.I'd be interested should anyone want to head out some day.

Hey Phil,
I am ready to run Off Road.  I'd be into going there a week this Sunday. I realize you don't have an off road car but that doesn't matter because we could run both there!  I've been waiting nearly 10 years to run off road again.  I may also go to Mike's RC World. I think they race on Sundays. That track is in Bellingham thus a bit closer.

Anyone else that can go let me/us know.
Know racing, know life.  No racing, no life.

Hi, Guys.

I'd go down for a trip to the tack but for on road only at this point.
