Hope no one minds giving out alittle info, I was wondering what everyone was running last weekend for power.

Specifically, Motor, and Rollout.

I am going to be running the Novak SS10.5, and was thinking of starting at around 48mm rollout, and adjusting from. Would that be the right ball park?

Thanks,
Shawn.

Hey, Shawn.

Do you know if the SS in bonded or sintered? Apparently rollout makes a difference depending on the rotor, Novak in particular. I would personally step it back a bit and get access to a temp gun. You're not far off, but close. Are you cooling the motor in any way? If so, then 48 is fine and you could likely go up a tooth. I rolled out at 51 and I suspect I could go up to 52 OK but if traction increased any more in the last main, I think I'd be approaching the tipping point. Temps were fine when traction was poor since the motor wasn't being forced to push the weight. However, once I switched to Whie rears and Goldstar Hard fronts the temp went up dramatically - like 25 degrees. So, start at 48 and go up until you are no higher than 150 degrees or so.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Phil, its very re-assuring that I am going to be in the ball park.

The motor that i am going to be using has the sintered rotor.

I can tell you I am running a 48.8 today.  :)  On my 10.5 Lipo.

Car has tons of power, lots of torque, and a top end that never seems to end.

Wether I can keep it facing the right direction will be another matter though.

I ran the car with a 50 rollout the other day, and the motor had such little amount of heat in it, I could barely feel anything at all. The track didnt have the grip though, so i am expecting alittle more temp today. I am also going to try and hit full throttle for more than a nano second on the straights.

Looking forward to a fun race day! Windy though!

Shawn.
