Hey, Guys.

Does anyone out there need any fire wood? We had two trees fall and hit the house during the storm this week and as a result, we just removed 20+ trees. They have been bucked either 12 or 24 inches. All I ask is a little help in moving some of it. I can also rent a splitter and you can take away what you split as long as you help me split the same amount. Please let me know - I am putting the same word out through a few different networks. The real issue for me is that I need to move the wood and I need help. I have a neighbor who wants a load, and Rob F does as well. Any and all help is appreciated.

Hey phil

I would be interested in some but when do you want it gone. I'm a little under the weather right now but would be interested.

Thanks so much, guys. With the three kids three and under it has been a bit of a challenge to say the least. 23 trees was the final count today. It was a living nightmare out here on Wednesday I can tell you, but I never thought that I would see so much wood come down. It was like grand central here with the fallers, insurance company, district and provincial people and such. Eek.

Let's connect Sat and go from there. Sounds like we have enough interest. I have 8 expressions so far. Not like I need it gone right away, but if you want to take some sooner rather than later, we can arrange that, but you'd have to split it elsewhere unless you have access to one until I can rent one. The arborist was awesome and he suggests it would only sit in place for two years before rot set in. That was my experience when we pulled 5 biggies down a few years back. At the end of two years it was not at all fun to deal with.

Hi, Guys.

Thanks for the offer to take some of the wood and help me move/split as you are able. I have rented two splitters for use all day Sunday. Looks as if the weather is due to clear up or at least stop raining Friday onward. So, if you are ready to go, let's make it:

0900 onward Sunday 29 Nov. Address is 2110 Curteis Road, near the ferry. Phone number is 250.882.2965.

Anyone is welcome. Just let me know. I believe Gerry, Daryl, Neil are good to go. Rob F and John are to be confirmed. If you can't make it, please let me know such that I can drop a splitter.

OK. Looks as if we will have six people plus myself here so far. FYI, the majority of the trees are on the southeast side of the house and the wood needs to be moved a short distance to the southwest side of the house where the splitters will be. Again, all I ask is that you help me move or split the same amount that you will take. The splitters are great and it would take approx an hour per truckload I think based on what I have done by myself in the past , so it would be roughly two-three hours work or more if you want more. We can trade off moving/splitting/loading which should keep everyone's back in reasonable shape  :'(.

We can park two trucks up top where we will move the wood - just back them up to the splitter. Another two trucks can be parked in front of the garage at the top of the driveway. If you just want to take bucked pieces (Neil?), you can park beside the stairs at the front of the house once the other trucks are in position which is half the distance.

I won't be racing Saturday (Christmas parade in Sidney) so I'll see you Sunday.

Thanks again.
Phil

The weather keeps changing so if it rains I will put the easy-up over the splitters.

Guys, I can't say enough about how appreciative I am that you all came to help out. I was overwhelmed with how this amount of work was going to get done, but we exceeded my expectations in the best of all scenarios. There were 14 guys here including me. We all moved and split the entire lot. I am absolutely amazed ... and we did it in just over 3 hours! I figured we would do 50-60% of the work on one day, but to see 14 guys busting their backs with only a short break until the pizza arrived was nothing short of awesome. In the end there were 8 truck loads and two trailers (hope you made it home OK, John and Craig!) plus what we stacked here for me.

Thanks again, guys. I hope your backs are OK. I really appreciate your help.

Cheers,
Phil

Hey thanks for letting us put some height back into our wood piles!
