How much is it to join the club and cost for classes?  I am going to race 13.5 stock 12th,  I can't seem to find the regulations and the search function won't work for me.  I also have a very old TC that i may try and modify to run it as well but first things first, Ill get the 12 scale up and running.
thanks
John :)

What kind of tc do you have?

Cost all depends on what you wanna spend. Can find good used cars and entry level/used electronic, probably be up and running for prob 200-350$

Or you can buy all new equipment, then the sky's the limit.

Best way to start is determin what your budget is to get started, then get advice on what and where to spend the money right.
ridez
2x 1/12 CRC xti-
1/12 nitro hydroplanes
1/10 customworks direct drive sprint.
1/10 kyosho optima mid se
1/10 losi 22-2 buggy
1/10 xray t2'16
1/10 bolink eliminator

Thanks,
the TC I have is an old yokomo YR4M2,
I meant how much is it to join the club (dues?)  and club race night fees.  I think practice is 5$ or something.
Thanks again
John

our website is pretty dated so i cant blame you for having a hard time finding the regulations, but they are as follows;

Typically we wont turn people away who have rtr cars or non compliant cars to help them get ontrack, but the clubs official rules are such;

17.5 Touring car;

- Any 1/10 scale 190mm 4wd electric touring car chassis
- For indoor you can run any touring car rubber tires you like, though there are some that are common with the club. ask around. blake sells tires in his store. outdoors we have a spec tire that can also be baught from the club.
- Any 17.5 Turn brushless motor aside from the trinity d3.5. though, Roar approved is prefered.
- Any 1/10 Electronic speed control that doesnt add boost timing to the motor. Roar approved blinky esc prefered
- Any 2s 7.4V Lipo battery as long as it has a hard case.
- Any 4door touring car style body. many to choose from from protoform, sweep ect. I wouldnt recommend picking up a hpi scale body. we would let it on the track, but as you progress someone will probably give you a proper body heh

13.5 1/12

- Any 1/12 scale car chassis
- Lola style 1/12 bodies *protoform amr, crc r8c ect*
- 1/12 scale foam tires *available in our store*
- Any 13.5 motor that isnt a d3.5 again, refer to roar rules
- Esc same as touring car, but there are some that work specificially in 1/12 scale cars and single cell batteries. lrp flow/orca vx1/hobbywing 1s
- Any 1s 3.7v Single cell lipo battery with hard case.

there are people who would disagree with me, but basically, just buy stuff that says roar approved. it will save you buying stuff again if you want to race in big races, or at other clubs that may be stricter than we are about rules. for the most part we run on a gentlemens rules.

the club sells completely Ready to run spec r touring cars with radio and charger for pretty cheap. thats the best way to get in for a low price with all modern equipment. we havent really gone down this road with 12th scale as i imagine it would be quite a bit more, but still reasonable as the cost of the cars themselves are typically half the average touring car.
if you wanted to start from nothing and race touring car, i think you could spend $400 on the spec r set. 12th scale id assume closer to $500 though you could always buy used.

some of us will be at the indoor facility on wednesday if you wanted to drop in and see what we run.

cost of the actual racing;
$20 to join the club for the season. $15 for one class indoors and $5 additional classes. blake has to pay his rent somehow lol.

That's what i was looking for.  LOL!  I got the 12th scale from Blake but wanted to know the club dues and fees,  thanks.  I won't be out this sat however should be ready for practice on the 29 and race on the 1st  :)

Hey John,

Race fees are $15 for the first class, and $5 for additional classes.  Haven't worked out the member fees yet, so currently it's $0.  IROCC used to charge $20 for the season, but we might need to increase that a bit this winter.

Not sure why the Search function doesn't work.  I notice that both our site and the COR site have the same problem.  I think our webmaster disabled them because it was causing performance or security issues with the sites.  I'll see if it could be reinstated.

Will have some fresh info for the 2014/2015 season (including results) on the website this week sometime.
