Hi guys, I'm the one listing the Xmod track someone posted above. I would much rather deliver it to someone locally than to ship it to god knows where, Please check it out and perhaps a deal can be made after the auction, to adjust the price. So in short out bid those outta towners, and I wil be able to bring the price down afterwards for IROCC members :-) Any questions don't hesitate to ask!

Hi, All.

Regrettably I can't open the track this week due to work travel. I'll be out of town until mid week and perhaps later. Meanwhile, Brian A is working on re-treading some fo the slick surfaces on the over-under track such that next time we'll be using a much tighter but much, much longer track. In fact I suspect that the length will be more than double but lane width will be a good 20-30% more narrow! Stay tuned and see you at 12th scale this PM.

Ciao.

Mmmmmm. Traaaack.

Well, we have a little modification to do here and there to make the RCP and other track fit, but I can tell you that the new portions are a hoot as well. Lane width is much more narrow but the track is also much longer and varied.

Brian and Mike came over this week and we set it all up to see what was what. Mike and Bri set the thing up in no time at all and it took us less than 5 minutes for the three of us to tear it down! Imagine! We joined the rough and smooth sections together (one has pink lane markers and the other has yellow so you know when you are going into a different surface area and can adjust your driving accordingly).

The over and under sections were fun, too. You could actually catch a little air off the bridge and on occasion it was like sliding down a rail on a snowboard with the chassis sliding along the side rail. The only realy part that I had to focus on time and time again, was transiting under one of the two bridges. We had positioned an underpass just after the straight so I found myself losing the car and getting hung up underneath. This could be rectified with a design change (easier than my driving change!).

Insofar as car setup was concerned, we tried foam and rubber all the way around and then foam and rubber combinations. In the end, Brian and I both used rubber all the way around and Mike used foam rear and rubber (20 degree) fronts. I also loosened the damper plate off a bit and it was all good. With some of the slippery sections on the track, you don't want tooooo much steering since the rear end comes around under accelleration. I swear that this will make us all better drivers. Personally I noticed a big difference in my confidence last week at 12th scale. Let's see if that translates back to the touring cars!

By the way .... 20 second lap times and we still have the RCP sections to add!

Track is open on Tuesday night. See you all there.

Hi, Everyone.

Reminder that the track is open this evening and we'll be running on the smooth surface. Brian and I tried this out last week and it was not an issue for traction. This week we'll be running the first attempt at merging Brian's narrow road course with the wide RCP track. I built half of it last night and custom fit a bunch of pieces to blend the two. It's quite neat, really, but there will be a little mahem I think since it has one bridge and two intersections that you need to transit in 3 different directions   . If it doesn't work we can change it in minutes, but I think that it will be a hoot - just scary! I'll take some photos for posting afterward.

See you at the races!
