I've got a extra 250W computer power supply.
It looks like i'll have to modify it in one way or another?
Please give me more info  :D .
eah and if you fill up half tank v-power and then go fill the rest with chevron techron you got mad vtech power yo

First check to see what current the supply puts out at 12V.  Should be at least 8 amps.  You will need to make and adapter or something to connect it to your charger.  Some switching power supplies require a load on the 5V line to work properly.

I was thinking of that as well, good to know it works 16A on 12v should be enough  :D

If it is an ATX supply you will need to jumper the green (theres only one) and black (several of these) leads on the power plug that goes into the mainboard for it to turn on.

If it is an AT supply you just need to turn on the switch.

Uh for the ATX supply they are typically green but not always.  Connect pin 14 to pin 15.  There is a drawing here to get the orientation right

Ok, I've found out that it's an ATX, puts out 16A at 12V, theres one green wire, and 7 black wires that lead to the mainboard plug. If it helps any  , it's a Bestec PSU.

How would I now make an adapter? (For a tamiya plug)

Sorry if all of these question are frustrating you haha...

What do you mean about making an adapter for a tamiya plug? this is a power supply, not a charger.
Take a piece of wire and jumper the green to one of the blacks next to it, with it plugged in the p/s fan should come on indicating that it is on. I use a bent paper clip. maybe test it with a case fan.
The other wire bundles that come off the p/s there will be a white molex connector with 4 connectors there with one red, two black and a yellow. the yellow is 12V positive, the red is 5V positive and the blacks are ground. now you have a 12v power supply. Make an adapter or cut and solder the leads to suit your needs.

It's not starting. I used a bent paper clip.

Ok, I figured out why it wouldn't start, so it starts now.

So, I'll have the charger hooked up to the p/s after i cut the plastic... But now I have to connect my aligator clips with the charger and both ends are female! What can I do to make the 2 female ends connect?

Hm, I think it would be easier to get a charger with a deans plug. I just completely screwed up my p/s and it'd be too hard for me to give the plug a sex change...Time to look for a new charger.

Well, that's what your soldering iron is for.

Revox

Well, I guess i'll give it a try the. Is there something i can get for my charger so I can plug it into the wall?

Your power supply that is equipped with a paper clip.
