What about rule #2?

Neil,

Technically, Rule #2 means you should not be running the stalled car across the track.  A nitro racer CANNOT get mad at you for simply placing the stalled car on the outside of the track.  His/her pitperson can run over and get the stalled car.  With that said, if you have an opportunity to get the car "closer" to the pit area, without leaving your post for more than a second or two, go for it.  I will do this, BUT I am always looking back at my corner to make sure no one has crashed there in my absence.  The cars that are still running get first priority.

It's a narrow line, but if you've signed up for Nitro, you've resigned yourself to the fact that marshalling can be dicey.

Especially when there are only two marshals and the rest are doing pit duties.
I think if your pitting for someone and it's also your turn to marshal you should also look after the corner by pit lane.
