I got mine from shavers.....Great hobbies have them for $919

It is the newest version and has many updates over the rtr, like suspension arms, diff, sway bars, sweet exhaust, bigger motor..

its an awesome kit, everything fits so tight, it comes with a little bearing press for the hubs. includes a MG 1/5 scale servo which works great...

ya i want to payne, but i am moving soon so just wanted an idea on whats out there.So payne that one that you have thats almost completed is it ready to run or did u put it all together, or upgraded parts that you had to order?

thats the SS kit about 8 hours in to the build... the only option part is the pull start cover.....

There may be 2 used baja for sale that I know of, one is mine (I'm getting the SS soon) The other one being of Vertigo Performance (Clayton is also getting an SS)

The VP baja will be sold with all VP hop up parts. I know I will be selling mine with new stock suspension arms and replace any worn out bits. I will include the new cy26cc SS motor and a new HPI tuned pipe. Dont know of the price of either at this time.

Thanks, 5thscaleracing is my forum. Just to let everyone know it is owned and opperated on the Island! HPI does support this forum and frequents it often.

The forum gives away at least one prize per month, we are working out details on another BIG prize (no cost to enter in the give aways!)

This next year it would be nice to do a big bash day/weekend. 5thscaleracing would be willing to sponsor an event like this with several prizes. A couple of events that we have sponsored in the past have been the Dec. 16 Toys for Tots race. The diggers dungeon event awhile back.
I would like to support more local racing. So something for you guys to think about.

Yes the SS is the new version of the HPI Baja, you will need radio gear to complete the build. It does how ever include a steering servo as most people dont have an extra 1/4 scale servo lying around.

Parts that are upgraded on it, aluminum diff case (very few had problems with the stock plastic cases) new shocks (were a huge problem with the rtr's) a new rear shock brace with 4 mounting screws, a bigger engine, a tuned pipe, sway bar kit (front and rear), clear body, and no more purple! There are a few other small changes, but this about covers the main changes.

For the Baja guys, check out the new GBE Pipes (I have the dual side bleed pipe, they also make an end bleed pipe which is louder but makes more top end power). I just got mine the other day. http://5thscaleracing.com/vb/showthread.php?t=1320

Can we get a place and date put together for a bash day? I know that 1 other person will come there as we have somewhere to stay. By the time the weather turns around we each will bring a HPI Baja and a Smartech Titan/VS Huricane (I dont have the Titan/huricane yet)

It does not need to be a track, just some where, where a bunch of people can get together for a fun filled day.

The sooner we can get a date set the sooner I can work on getting prizes put together, I'd like to have it set up so that everyone walks home with something... being a T-shirt to what ever else we can come up with.

Lets get large scale going on the Island!

Hey Dave I'm in, anything I can do to help let me know. I'll be able to bring 3 Baja's myself and I know of two more for sure in Vic that would most likely come. How soon were you thinking? Got your SS yet?

Just trying to round up as many people as posible, I was thinking more when the weather gets better. So at least a few months away... I dont want to make the trip just to find out its raining/snowing!

Ok everyone its been some time since I've been here. Some new news for everyone! There is a new shop in Parksville that has many bajas and parts. Air Ink Body & Paint, any one looking for a custom painted shell? They have good prices! The other real big news here is that there is soon going to be a large scale offroad track too! Built just for large scale cars in mind! The track will not be open for a few months yet, but is really going to happen this time! The shop has only been open for a very short few weeks, but they are moving many baja's out of it. Numbers are really starting to grow now, lets get a big bash/race day set up!

Ok bad news, this track fell through. It is still open for electric and nitros, if you want more info on this track just shoot me a pm, and I'll pass on the info.

Other news we may have found land in the Parksville area for a large scale track. We have the machines and dirt allread figured out, its just getting the ok for the land. Large scale racing will be on the Island soon!
