Hi there guys i want to get into the pan car racing.  I have been to both irocc races which were awsome btw racing nitro cars but i wanted to hae an electric car also and i just love the pan car style so i was wondering which one is good to get.  I understand that you guys run 235mm but in winter here in van they will be racing 200mm pan cars so i wanted to get one with a 235mm conversion kit cause i know the xray doesnt have one.  THat why in winter i can have it 200mm and summer 235mm.  I also would like something tht wont be to hard to get parts for and something that other guys run just in case i need help with the setup as i think they can be finaky.
thanks for your thoughts

You can't go wrong with a CRC Gen-X 10 200mm or 235 with the wide kit

We run both 200mm and 235mm. I run 200mm(Associated 10L3, probably 8-10 years old) and I am very competitive with the 235mm cars. Actually the fastest cars are 200mm cars outdoors. One is the CRC, the other is an X-Ray link car.

interesting i dont know where i got that idea cuase i thought all u guys ran 235mm is there any advantage  in running 235mm.  cause if not i could just get an xay maybe  :)

The club has a major discussion upcoming regarding this class and I am pulling together all the data now so we can make an informed decision. Please refrain from making any purchasing decisions for a week or so.

finally we might have a class that has restriction on what you can use and how much.

Yea i wasnt planing on getting one right away but hopefully in a month or 2 were you guys still thinking of running world gt if regs or just making the pro 10 class more spec.   Cause i dont mind the world gt regs expect for the bodies in my eyes the gtp prototype bodies are a big part of what makes a pan car a pan car  :) but i will keep checking in to see what direction you guys want to go.
thanks

Blake

Hi swifty,

As Mick mentioned, we'll be discussing this in detail shortly.  We will be asking for input from ALL our club members so that we can make the best decision for our club.

We love 10th Scale Pan cars here, and the Pro10 version is really the ultimate racing machine.  However, we struggle to maintain compatibility with other clubs and the new WorldGT standard.  So, we're trying to figure what is the best move for our club.

If you are from Vancouver, then your decision should be driven by the classes offered over there.

Like Daryl mentioned, a car like the CRC GenX10 is nice because it is flexible enough to run in both 200mm and 235mm formats.

This will be interesting to see what happens. I thought half the problem with my car all year was because it was too narrow until Tom knocked Mick off the podium at Saanich days with Blakes 200mm CRC. Same as mine.

Although aesthetically, 235mm looks pretty darn cool.

Daryl, you said one of the competitive cars was a 200mm Xray? I thought Mick's car was wide? :o

DekelzMan

My car is wide but at the beginning of the season I was running it at 200mm and it was every bit as good as it is now. The only reason I ran it wide is because of the body I wanted to run.

ok DekelzMan  that sounds good like i said before i thought everyone was running 235mm but if the 200mm are being ran i could just get the xray and run it in winter with the van guy specs then switch engines or whatever to get it to ur guys specs cause in summer my main concern is the 2 victoria races and the rrr race. So it be nice to try to run pan cars with you guys :)
